Our case, even after receiving the IL, is still "at NVC" at CEAC Status tracker. Does anyone know when this changes, e.g. like transit to embassy , or what the next status will be after "at NVC"?

Give it some time, it will show as "Ready". Once you're approved, it will show as "Issued".

You have your interview date on Jan 24.  All of this is noise.  Does it matter when the system gets updated?

No it does not matter, still, I want to know and have the right to ask. If you have something constructive to say,  or particular knowledge about the question asked, please go ahead. The main reason is, that there are many reports that say, that the Embassy would pre-review your case, and, if something is missing/needed, contact the applicant before the interview and informs / reminds him to bring a particular document / paper / evidence.  Knowing when the embassy received your case is therefore of some importance, even if only minor...

Nobody said you didn't have a right to ask.  You can post whatever you want.  I can too.

You are correct. Our embassy sent us an email requiring additional proof of income to bring to the interview. This was about two weeks prior to my spouse's interview.

Hi Michael, can you explain me the Table A (FINAL ACTION DATES FOR FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCE CASES) footnote (NOTE: For January, F2A numbers EXEMPT from per-country limit are authorized for ...)? I do not understand well what that means.  Thansk

@Michael2017...I think it doesn't really matter when the ceac tracker changes as long as you got the IL in your hand because mine didn't change for 2 months after I got IL (received IL in April 2018 for interview in May)..Even after the interview, it still said at NVC...and we travelled by July...still then it showed "at NVC"..I don't know if it changed now. I think there's a delay in them updating the system - it scares the rest of us into thinking there is something wrong....like I did...I kept thinking there was something missing...and I took 6 full clear folders..and my interview last about 20 to 25min...the wait prior was like 4 hours...I had documents to everything she asked and extras.. Good luck for the interview 😊😊👍👍 Hope things go well.

For some countries, where there are too many applicants, there is a is a limit and the visa bulletin moves slower for them. A large part of F2A is exempt from this.

Cuba has no issue. So, you can ignore that note for yourself.
