Hello,

My fiancé makes slightly more than the minimum required income threshold for 2 dependents, but I've read that Montreal can be fickle with requiring consponsors, so we will also be using a coaponsor.

However, while we do have letters of employment, recent pay stubs, and my fiancé's tax return, our cosponsor's tax return is unavailable. Could this cause problems if a consponsor is even requested?

Thanks in advance

We were in the same boat. Even though my fiancé made slightly more than the minimum, we wanted to have a co-sponsor just in case.

At the interview we submitted (in addition to the affidavits):

For fiancé: letter of employment, pay stubs, 2015 recent tax return (a print out from Turbotax, which showed a significantly lower income than 2016), bank statements. In the interview I was asked about the low income for 2015 and I drew attention to his current income which is substantially higher, supported with the other docs.

For co-sponsor: letter of employment and a letter from his bank stating his balance/income. Although the clerk was puzzled why we submitted co-sponsor docs as my fiancé made enough, she did ask why we didn't have his 2015 tax return, but it turned out not to be an issue as we were approved at the day of the interview. Hope this helps!
