Nervous/excited about interview/medical!

So now everything is booked, medical on the 29th December followed by the interview on the 20th January - in between the medical and the interview I'm visiting my fiancé so it's gonna be a busy three week period!

But anyhow I've booked my trains to London, my hotel the night before the interview and man is it sinking in - I am pretty damn nervous! But also excited to be done with the distance and to finally be able to spend every holiday together and not resenting visits because one of us has to leave at the end. It's gonna be awesome.

...still nervous though :P

Good luck and best wishes! Especially on your visit to the States- bring as much as you can to prove ties back home ;) but you should be fine.

Also recommended, get all your vaccines done before your medical!

I'm pretty sure I'm all up to date with my vaccinations - but I will enquire about them!

I'm also very nervous about the interview. I completely understand what you're feeling. I can't even sleep properly at night. I keep thinking I'm going to be denied even though there is no logical reason for it.

Best of luck to you! It's crazy, I keep thinking about every negative outcome in my head - no matter how illogical!

I was the same, I think we all do it, with so much riding on those 5 mins it's impossible not to worry but try to relax and enjoy the experience, everyone you meet in the embassy is lovely - I'm sure they want you to get your visa :)

Oh I'm sure they do. I think at this point I am more excited than nervous (ask me the night before though!), it's an exciting time

It's totally ridiculous but my biggest worry is that we applied for a UK visa for my husband first. That was our original plan. Unfortunately he was denied so this is plan B. Now, although that to me proves that I am doing this purely to be with my husband and not because I want to live the American Dream, I am panicking that they will be 'offended' (for want of a better word) that the US was not my first choice. I keep thinking they will say 'Well why should we give a visa to someone who never wanted to live here anyway?'. I don't hate the place but I don't love it as much as the UK either. Although my husband thinks I will come to love the place as it will be our home and we will love our home wherever we are because we are together and that's the most important thing. Geography doesn't matter.

I'm just over-thinking it, I believe.

You're 100% over thinking it :)

I do that too though, I take tiny, tiny things and make them into big old mountains. I think, as I said, it's normal during this process - we'll all feel pretty silly when we're done with this process!

The CO won't even know unless it's in your paperwork and even if they do it's completely irrelevant, keep thinking happy thoughts, pink unicorns and all that stuff (and remember to breathe), it'll be over soon and you'll feel the weight fall off as you hear the word APPROVED :)
