They could have fund Craigslist on their own. These embassies do a lot of research on their own it seems. Sometimes they know thing that surprise people. Simple Google search with OP's name may have led them to CL.

Did you not talk about what was said in the interview about Craigslist ? You said maybe he mentioned it ? Did he or did he not ?

They want to verify what he said so you should have a discussion on exactly what they asked and what he said.

They also may want to see if he saw your ads first on Craigslist before you added each other on FB, they are looking into on how

you first met online. If after 10 - 12 days he has not heard from them I would email the embassy and inquire how long it may

take because of having a small child with him. Watch the ceac site notification, what does it say now ?

Thank you. All points valid. I don't know exactly in details what and how did he say it. He was so depressed, he is not communicating yet he said he will wait in the hotel. No, he did not see my ad in craigs, we met in Facebook, I have my web design page in Facebook, I don't know how the Craigslist came up? Yet I am not worrying about them checking, it's all legitimate and true. I am in Craigs for the last 4 years and we met a little more than 1 year ago just starting chatting, he contacted me about how web design is and we became friends.

And yes, if the 10 days passed, the embassy's letter says to contact them, it tells me, they should process it fast. I am watching the ceac site, it's saying ready as for interview, too soon to see some changes, 1 day only waiting.

I am also seeing the passport tracking by number, it tells where his passport is now and it says at the embassy

No. I advertise as my website name says. But I agree, they do know how to do the research. Asking us for the Craigslist old ads sounds more than additional info just in case, maybe make it more difficult for us thinking I don't have a record, it could happen. Or maybe we just in a necessary additional delay as the embassy people need to show they are working and checking well, Nigeria is a high risk country and I am sure they also need to show at work certain percentage of delays

Mostly, I think the CO wants to verify it is really me the web designer and having my personal Craigslist ads and the same moment they asked, it's confirming it because there is my phone number, my email, my real name and my address registered, they can see it.

I think maybe they don't believe I am a designer because it's not very common, I am an old lady, it's not common to be a good IT at my age but I am a fast learner and good in coding, computers and stuff

or maybe the CO thinks it needs to be added to the affidavit which is not a case, I have enough stable income and the web design is mostly a hobby.

I really don't know what to think and why this question? I just hope they see the fast answer and issue the visa because it's all so correct and true. Just waiting

you need to talk to your fiance so he can explain why craiglist even got mentioned ,thats a bit odd

Yes, I agree. I am waiting for his answers, he is depressed, he didn't eat or sleep, I guess he is sleeping now and I am not sure he has the internet, no computer for sure, no local phone either as he came to Lagos temporary, I am waiting

My fiance got the interview yesterday, Nov. 29. Apparently all well, all documents accepted and at the end he was asked about my small web design business, he mentioned we met in Facebook talking about web design and I helped him building his real estate job website. All well but he got the letter asking to provide my craigslist ads and information about my web design, which he immediately after the interview asked me, printed and sent it to the embassy together with his and his baby passports as the letter says. Also the letter asks only this additional information saying after the information is provided in 10 days they will issue the visa.

Does somebody have a similar experience? How long did it take? My fiance is waiting in Lagos at the hotel together with his baby, I hope it doesn't take long, the hotel and all staying in Lagos is not cheap, he can't work now there and we are still waiting for visa.

Any advice or comment will be very appreciated

Tasha

Just give them what they want. I don't think it's a big deal. Ask your fiance to take a chill pill, this process truly tests your patience and will.

Wish you well on your visa journey!

Oh, we immediately gave them all info, I got screenshots from my craigslist account, sent to him, he printed and sent the way they asked, it was right after his interview, no delay, now we are waiting for visa yet you know, it's never 100% sure until having the visa in hand

Thank you for sharing. Did you send the missing document right away? How do you know they processed it and the date 18th? How do you know you are in AP? Was it saying Administrative Processing in your letter? or did they communicate with you after 18th saying you are in AP?

and yes, my fiance said he saw my ad in craigslist and then contacted me in Facebook, I just remember we started to chat about the web design, got alone so well, I designed his real estate website and it's all there, even his website domain is on my name and in my hosting. I guess the embassy does verify for to see it's the truth the way we met, maybe it's not common for a Nigerian meeting this way but it's what happened.
