Thanks Sukie for your help.

Is this what you did?

Hi there.

You need to watch your status like a hawk. The instant it changes to "ready", fire off a very polite email to the Sydney Consulate. Be sure you have already done your medical, and include that in your request for a change.

I don't want you to get your hopes up - heading into Christmas is not a good time to be trying to move things up, as everyone will be trying to do so. And we all know that the time between Christmas and New Year's is dead.

Since the Sydney Consulate only interviews CR-1/IR-1 applicants on Tuesdays, there are not that many slots.

I don't have the email address handy at the moment, but I'll try to find it for you. Be sure to include your Case Number, the name and birthdate of the interviewee, and tell them the date you had your medical done.

Do NOT write them prior to seeing "Ready" as your status, as they will not have your file in their system and they won't be able to do anything.

Best of luck!

Sukie (currently in Oz)

Congrats!!!

Unfortunately we were put on administrative processing as our police certificate was of a wrong format and we are now required to resubmit it by email.

Strangely, it has gone through NVC just fine. We were told that there was probably a mistake by officers not letting us know that it was a wrong one. Now we have to wait again and see what happens

Hi all! I have been absent for so long it's like I've never been here :dancing:

CONGRATS to everyone who got an Interview Date, and special CONGRATULATIONS :goofy: :goofy: :goofy: to all those who were APPROVED.

I have a quick question: My husband had the interview on 10/19, and got a 221g for more evidence of our relationship. We submitted the requested evidence on 10/24, including more photos, emails, IM chat logs, and a personal letter I wrote detailing the timeline of our relationship. The "last updated" date has changed three times since then, while the status showed AP, but when checking today the status was changed to READY (with the generic interview scheduling text underneath), and last updated date was 12/05 (yesterday). They kept his passport when we dropped off the additional evidence.

Is it reasonable to hope that we have been approved and the status could change to Issued sometime soon?

Thank you!

I'm going to write a full review but the questions he asked were:

- how long have you known your husband?

- how did you meet him?

- how do you communicate?

- can he speak German (because I lived in Germany for a long time and am bilingual)?

- how long were you in Germany for?

- what did you do there?

- where will you be living in the USA?

- how is your joint sponsor known to you?

- are you fully aware of all the details of your husband's criminal record?

Then he asked about my parents and how long my father worked overseas and in which countries.

He asked when I planned to move and I told him I have a job offer for a position that starts in January. He asked about the job (name of the company and job role).

Then he said he had to make some notes.

He typed for a while. Then he said he has approved my visa.
