Congratulations!!! I knew it!

Arrived yesterday afternoon. I tell you folks, checking in for my one-way flight and proudly telling the agent I am moving to be with my husband forever, joining the "citizens and residents" line at immigration at the airport yesterday, handing over the huge package from the embassy, being told "congratulations and welcome home" by the CBP officer, getting my passport stamped and becoming an official permanent resident is all a wonderful feeling! But nothing like the feeling of running through the arrivals door at the airport and being with my husband forever. Every minute of the flight, the NVC wait and the Nebraska wait was worth it for this feeling.

As Winston Churchill said "if you're going through hell, keep going".

So happy for you JFH! I'll be going me meet my husband soon as well... All the long waiting has finally paid off and it has all been worth it.

I came across a Youtube video of USEM Abu Dhabi having a Manequinn challenge. This must be one of the reasons why USEM Abu Dhabu is taking forever. They are having fun!. I must say I felt better know the kind of faces my husband could be intervewing with.

just grieving...

Hi Everyone. I just want to share my interview results with everyone just incase anyone ends up in the same position. I went into my interview yesterday full of confidence and not too concerned as I know I checked and triple checked everything. My husband and I have been married for over 4 years and we have a beautiful daughter. The interviewer said there was no question as to whether our relationship was genuine and barely asked any questions, everything was going so well. That was until she said that because my husband hadn't filed his 2015 US taxes (we were living in Australia at the time) she could not approve my application and we have been placed on administrative processing until he files his taxes. I being Australian was completely unaware that US citizens, even if they are residing abroad, must file taxes every year. I had read during the application process that if they hadn't filed taxes to provide a statement explaining why, which we did. That was not good enough. Another setback. I'm just disappointed no one had mentioned this to us earlier. I thought we were done! I know I'll get there eventually. Point of the story... make sure if you are a US citizen you file your taxes no matter where you are.

There are only three countries in the world who tax their citizens no matter where they are: The US, China, and an African country whose name I cannot remember.

Sorry your USC husband didn't know that.

I was on vacation so I never saw anything such as "In Transit". I only saw "Ready" when I finally checked the status. So keep checking your status.
