I had much the same question. I think Packet 3 is just for K1 visas. From what I understand the NVC has already approved the equivalent of Packet 3. CR1 visas just do Packet 4.

And thanks to Thamizh1995, I just found out our interview is scheduled for January 23rd. After a slow start at USCIS, this process has really picked up.

I'm wondering if there's some way we can convince them to do the medical in advance before Christmas although we don't have the final e-mail.

That's kind of what I've gathered. Sounds good to me.

We already have my husband's medical scheduled, btw. When we scheduled it in Toronto, they didn't need the interview confirmation sheet yet. I think as long as you have that when you actually go in, you'll be fine. His appointment is January 3rd, but I bet they could have done it sooner. My husband gave them the date range of Jan 3 - Jan 6.

Sounds like heaven - going HOME! You give me hope. When I get frustrated with the process - like 52 minutes on hold with NVC last night only to be cut off when they finally answered - I just think of you and how you're done with the process and going to your husband soon. That will be us soon.

52 minutes on hold with NVC! That's the biggest proof of a bona fide marriage. No one would sit and listen to that awful music for 52 minutes if they didn't love their spouse. I think USCIS should include it in the list of suggested evidence.

I emailed Vienna and they told me it takes 24-48 hours processing time for their embassy...is that what every embassy says? im hoping it will be 24 hours only!! my experience with Vienna is they aren't as busy, the NVC rep had told me that once when I called before CC and since they reschedulked the interview I hope he was right! but anyway please let me know how long most of you waited to get your passport back after the interview and how long did they tell you it would take?

How can you tell if your case is ready? Its been 6 weeks and we have no news.

After mt case hit the 6 weeks I called everyday to see if my case had been reviewed. Just keep calling them until they complete your case. Good luck!

It's a slim chance like slim slim slim BUT do what I did...once they set your interview wait till your case arrives at the embassy and email them ASAP! Asking them for a January interview ask them nicely and keep emailing everyday literally until they do it. My hubby had a January 10 interview and today they changed it to December 22 bc I kept insisting and they kept saying my case isn't in office yet so I kept emailing and walla! Do it

I WILL BE DOING THAT LET'S see....I called NVC tonight and they confirmed INTERVIEW FOR JANUARY 18

In London there is a big screen that says "tourist visas take 7 days to process, immigrant visas take 17 days to process". I knew that it was much faster because on the UK forum here we have been keeping records of passport return times and it's about 7 or 8 days. My interview was Tuesday. I was in administrative processing all day Wednesday, issued on Thursday, courier received Monday, collected Tuesday. I have noticed that nothing gets done at the London embassy on Fridays.

How recent does the police certificate has to be for the interview. My husband's most recent one is from October snd was sent to NVC in the IV package. Should we get a new one for the interview in January?

hey i just had my interview in DR on Wednesday and they did ask me for a recent Police certificate. my husband paid the impuesto at bank reserva and didn't print out the police certificate till the day before because the system uses the date you print as the date it provided you with the certificate. i hope you understand what im saying because it sounds a bit confusing.

P.S. make two copies of everything and make sure you bring your affidavit and proof because they were checking that a lot. Good luck!!

Has to be maximum one year old so you're good with that one.
