I just had a quick lookie on Ceac and it has a Status Updated Date...is that it?

Yes that's it. Mine had a status updated date of 4 November but then it changed to 28 November and then 30 November. Edited by JFH

I just called the NVC to see if an interview date had been scheduled yet. He said that it was scheduled (yesterday 11/29) and will be Jan 10! My CC date was Nov 25. It's been a very long process starting in March.. finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Good luck to everyone else!

I only got the P4 letter from NVC. Nothing from the London embassy.

Hi Everyone. Just after a little advice. I rang and got my case complete date on the 10th of November and rang again today to finally receive my interview date!! It's set for January 17th. A little hard to spend the holiday period and our daughters 2nd birthday (it's next week!) apart but we are reminding ourselves that there will be another Christmas and birthdays next year. So my question is.. has anyone tried moving the interview date to an earlier date? And if so how do you go about it? I know it won't be in time for Christmas but I was really hoping for an early Jan date. My little girl is missing her daddy and he's also missing her terribly.

Good luck to everyone on this journey... it's not easy but 100% worth it!!

Good luck everyone!

My case has been touched twice this week ready for next week.

How do you know your case has been "touched"?

For those who have gotten an interview date, did you receive the email on the same date?

Hi there.

You need to watch your status like a hawk. The instant it changes to "ready", fire off a very polite email to the Sydney Consulate. Be sure you have already done your medical, and include that in your request for a change.

I don't want you to get your hopes up - heading into Christmas is not a good time to be trying to move things up, as everyone will be trying to do so. And we all know that the time between Christmas and New Year's is dead.

Since the Sydney Consulate only interviews CR-1/IR-1 applicants on Tuesdays, there are not that many slots.

I don't have the email address handy at the moment, but I'll try to find it for you. Be sure to include your Case Number, the name and birthdate of the interviewee, and tell them the date you had your medical done.

Do NOT write them prior to seeing "Ready" as your status, as they will not have your file in their system and they won't be able to do anything.

Best of luck!

He should be able to make the appointment now. I was able to make the appointment for the medical as soon as I knew the interview date. But things vary from country to country as to the procedures. In London they want you to bring 'correspondence from the NVC that confirms your case number and visa category' so in London theoretically it's possible to have the medical before you know the interview date. Recently someone had a medical in London before case complete (that seems crazy to me as the visa is valid 6 months from the medical date and with case complete taking so long these days they are losing a lot of time).

Check the website of the embassy where the interview is being held.

Once the case reaches the embassy, check the 'status updated' date on CEAC and you will see it will change from time to time. That's when they have accessed your file. Mine was touched 5 days after the medical (I assume that was the results being delivered to the embassy and being added to my file) and then again yesterday. As I am less than a week from interview I assume yesterday's touch was to go through the file and make the decision.

I got my email confirming the interview a few days after it was actually scheduled.
