There will be a paper inside the envelope with your passport with the website where you can pay. You need the reference number from the actual visa - I wanted to pay it before I got the visa back to get it done but it's not possible until you have the visa in hand.

Can't stop looking at my visa - it finally feels real that I'm going HOME to my husband and never have to leave him at an airport again! Just wish I had given the embassy a better photo of me for the visa. I look thoroughly fed up in my picture. But I said to my friend: 'that is the face of a woman who has spent 10 months doing this paperwork!'

I know, after so much going on , its a sigh of relief that we are almost done and will be together with our loved once. My husband got the email today and he got his visa finally. There is the registration no. there.

Did you already paid the fees for the greencard?

Husband received green card in mail today. Entry date was Nov 9.

HI congratulation. Did you apply for his greencard before he came to the U.S. or after he came here?

I paid mine as soon as I got home with my passport and visa. I am pleased to be done with the "please pay" part of this journey. No more fees now until naturalisation in 2019.

Congratulations on your husband getting his visa in hand!

Yes, as JFH said, paid for it as soon as he got the visa package in hand and we were able to get those #s from the package. That was on Nov 2, a week before he came. Although it's said they don't process it until the immigrant arrives in the states. He also had his social security card within 10 days of arriving.

Sounds like heaven - going HOME! You give me hope. When I get frustrated with the process - like 52 minutes on hold with NVC last night only to be cut off when they finally answered - I just think of you and how you're done with the process and going to your husband soon. That will be us soon.

So I've been doing some more reading in preparation for our interview, and from what I've read, it sounds like we were supposed to have received Packet 3 and sent back some things before we got an interview date. Is this not right?

So I've been doing some more reading in preparation for our interview, and from what I've read, it sounds like we were supposed to have received Packet 3 and sent back some things before we got an interview date. Is this not right?

I had much the same question. I think Packet 3 is just for K1 visas. From what I understand the NVC has already approved the equivalent of Packet 3. CR1 visas just do Packet 4.

And thanks to Thamizh1995, I just found out our interview is scheduled for January 23rd. After a slow start at USCIS, this process has really picked up.

I'm wondering if there's some way we can convince them to do the medical in advance before Christmas although we don't have the final e-mail.
