Let me quote what LARRY THE CABLE GUY said about guns..

"Guns dont kill people, Husbands coming home early kill people"

Guess he is right in this case

I think that was Ron (Tater Salad) White to whom that very true quote should be attributed. Check out slim's post on page two of this thread....he brought the quote up at the end of his post. ;)

Git-r-done!!!

There are so many things wrong with what appears to be presented in this case. I can only assume that there is a lot we don't know about it.

Someone died for having sex with a married woman. A woman is made responsible for a death when her crime is deciept and cowardice. ( I am not making light of what she did do. Crying rape when it isn't is very wrong and some jail time is correct for such an action) Someone who shot at a fleeing 'criminal' is not in any way accountable for his actions. How can any of this be ok?

I wonder what the victim's family make of it all...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

good point....the victim is forgotten in this texas drama ...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The fleeing criminal was a rapist in the shooters mind. Why is it wrong to shoot your wife's rapist? The wife is fully responsible for the lie.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Is this a serious question?

I think this case is a great example of why it's wrong to shoot your wife's rapist.

Yes. Serious.

Are we too assume all rapists are consensual lovers first and rapists second (if at all)?

She is responsible, but the guy is responsible for using a deadly weapon to kill someone who ultimately wasn't committing a criminal act. Whether he knew that or not is really irrelevant - he made a judgement to pull the trigger and should be willing to take responsibility for causing the man's death. If you're not willing to take that responsibility, then you really shouldn't have a gun.

As I said, it illustrates the problems that come from a lack of adequate training with these weapons. Knowing when and when not to pull the trigger would seem to be part of the responsibility for owning one of these weapons, rather than congratulating some yahoo (who in all likelihood had a skinful at his card game) to start pumping away at a guy on someone else's say-so.

At the very least there's a case for manslaughter for the shooter to answer.

What I'm saying is that a person can't play judge, jury and executioner. The guy was not defending, he was avenging.

Erekose, A jury decided..... the system works.

I'm sure he was charged or a grand jury decided he didn't need to be charged.

I said it before.... I would not only avenge, I would hunt any guy down that raped my wife and let the jury decide. This is why a jury convicts, not an individual.
