Texas wife indicted after lover killed

It is if his wife's still in the car.

His wife wasn't in the car, she was on the porch in her robe. The guy was driving away from the scene when the husband fired 4 shots at his truck, one of which hit his head.

If you think that's a justified killing, then you're a f**king idiot. Texas is just descending into vigilante justice. The wife and husband both need to go to jail, one for murder, the other for accessory to murder.

Heat of passion. I would shoot anyone in the back that raped my wife. Sh!t.. I'd hunt them down. Only a jury of f**cking idiots would convict.

I think we found our first cheater.

I noticed you were silent on that one.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

no, just the wife does. this was a split second decision on his part and i don't blame him for what he did. i do blame the wife for portraying it the way she did, which did lead to this event.

I think your Latin needs work. Can't just google the words. Anyhow, it's not hypocrisy; he was rude to you (and me, technically), but he didn't insinuate that the only reason you think that is because you go around shooting people in trucks.

His is a conclusion. Yours is an ad hominem (it actually means more than 'namecalling.')

Insinuating that someone only disagrees with you about whether it's right to shoot a fleeing man in the back because they are cheating on their spouse (or the parallel sorts of things: you only worry about privacy because you're a crook, that sort of thing, you only believe in habeas because you're a terrorist) is just a rhetorical move that gets under my skin.

I'm not shocked...just horrified at how badly things can get out of control.

The man shot the lover of his wife in a "heat of the moment" reaction, which is understandable....but his actions still resulted in the death of another person. Because the lover was driving away from the scene it is difficult to see it as a case of self-defense (or defense of a loved one). I don't understand why some sort of indictment against the husband was not handed down. The indictment against the wife is just, and well done on the part of the grand jury.

I can't help but wonder, if firearms were not so easily 'available', would this outcome have been so tragic? I don't want to detract from this debate by going off on the facility to obtain a firearm in this country....that is a whole different debate. I'm just wondering....why was it so easy for the husband to grab his gun? Where was the gun? (This happened in the driveway of his home, the husband came home and was confronted with this in front of his home.) I mean, was he carrying it with him? If he would have had to run in his house, grab his gun and run back out again to shoot, maybe by then the hapless lover would have been able to drive off and would not be dead now. Just my $0.02....

1. he was stopping him from fleeing the scene of the felony crime.

2. texas has a concealed carry law, he probably had his pistol on his person.

3. put the blame where it lies, on the shoulders of the spouse for crying wolf.

4. were firearms not so easy to obtain, as you put it, the criminals would love it.

Anybody else have the Google ad for Firearms Training in Maryland at the top left corner of this page?

Not going to get into a gun debate here, but love the irony!

1. I'm thinking by 'he' you mean the husband? Well, he certainly stopped this person from fleeing...he shot him dead. While I don't think that it is wrong to stop someone from fleeing the scene after committing a crime I just question the method he used...shooting at him not once, but 4 times. (Along the same lines...and another example of the "crazy" people that live in Texas....Clara Harris may not have been convicted of her husband's death if she had run him over once "in the heat of passion"....but she ran her "cheatin' lyin' sack-o-sh**" husband over thrice.)

2. Yes, I know the concealed handgun law...I live in the Lone Star State. ;)

3. I agree, the majority of the blame certainly lies w/ the spouse. That's why I applaud that an indictment was handed down by the grand jury against her.

4. I did not say "easy to obtain," I said "easily available" by which I meant the facility people have to the gun they own. I guess my objection is to the above mentioned "concealed handgun" law.

Doesn't this illustrate the dangers of firearms in the hands of people who don't have the training that a law enforcement official has to go through in order to adequately assess a situation and make a split-second decision as to whether or not to pull the trigger?

I also see the guy had just returned home from a card game - I wonder what say... a couple of drinks would do to his decision-making ability...

They should both be hauled up in court.
