Hi, I am a Filipina working in Qatar, and me and my fiancé are collating the documents for K1 visa application. I came across in Form I-129F, Part 2. Information About your Alien 36.a and 36.b( Your fiancé will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate at).

Now, my dilemma is whether to put the US Embassy in the Philippines or US Embassy in Qatar. I want to know once how long will it take after NVC forwards the case to the US embassy of the beneficiary, to the time of interview, more or less. I just don't know which would be better or faster, to have the interview in the Philippines or in Qatar.

Maybe some of you guys have similar case as mine, then can I have your suggestion.

One thing though, I do want to spend time with my family in the Philippines before going to the US.

Hello,

I am residing in Kuwait and currently waiting for my K-1 approval, I will be having my interview on Kuwait consulate. Based on my survey the process is depend on the case, nothing to do with the embassy because I believed once you got approve by USCIS then it will be easy.

I believe theres a lot to do with embassy

i had choice between thailand and france and i regret i didnt chose france.

i have heard so much bad stuff about thailand and how they make it hard for genuine couples but i never heard anything bad or anything about unfair denials in french US embassy, after reading every review about both embassies

also in france they never think you gonna be a public charge since french social system is so much better than US, so they never ask for affidavit, while in thailand you must send affidavit of support but they might not allow co sponsor. i chose thailand when i didnt know how different embassies are, but im worried crazy now, after reading reviews about both embassies, im worried as unfair denials are not uncommon in this third world "hi fraud" country

so my advice will be, please dont care about where it is faster, do care about how they treat treat applicants, where they are less bureaucratic, where they ask less documents, where they are less cranky, read reviews about both embassies and trust your gut feeling

No big difference, really. check both countries timelines average time from nvc to interview.

They might put her on administrative processing because she's applying in Middle East  and they might to do so in Manila because she used to work in Middle East. Apply in phils if it's more comfortable, get police certif in Qatar before interview

you can always ask nvc to send case to another embassy if you think you made mistake
