Sep 16th I filed the papers and they received it sep 20th. I received a receipt notice within 2 weeks. But no approval!!!

Don't know exactly why it hasn't been approved I sent my I-130 in on sept.19 and it's already in NVC I just filled out my agent form yesterday did you call them and ask what's taking so long?

So they've barely had it for two months but you were expecting approval already?

The IR-1/CR-1 process takes around a year total. The wait time for approval of the I-130 is around six months.

You are jumping the gun. Nothing to do now but wait.

Really depends on where you are in the que and how proactive you are in following up on your case. For us, 5 months from submittal to POE. So I dont fault tbe OP for expecting approval within 2 months, but OP should realize every case is different.

Philippines cases are always faster.

OP have a look at some timelines (mine, for example) to get an idea as to how long this is likely to take.

Timeline in brief:

I'm totally outraged reading these comments.. I submitted my I -130 on March 23 2016.. received RFE in September. Sent back every document they asked for. There received it back from me on October 17th. And have not heard from them since ... why are they taking so long ? I've called numerous times to check on the status but they keep on telling me the same thing over and over again ... it's processing

They have around 60 days to respond to your response to the RFE

to the OP Ignore cases from Philippines you will be forever disappointed if comparing timelines. USCIS says 5 months so at least 5 months is what you should prepare for and be happy if it's less. It could also be more.

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the I-130 approval process the same for all CR1/IR1 petitions?

It would be nice if it were.

Philippines cases are usually processed faster. I've noticed that Potomac doesn't seem to process them any faster than any other country but Nebraska definitely still expedites cases with Filipino beneficiaries. It dates back to the typhoon a few years ago where USCIS put an emergency expedite on cases.

https://www.uscis.gov/news/uscis-extends-relief-measures-filipino-typhoon-victims

It seems the emergency expedite was never officially ended.

Hi Rich,

I am curious since we are filing same visa for the same country, did you have a medical expedite or anything that your NOA2 was approved so quickly?

Congrats on the quick approval though!!

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1
