Next steps for K1 process - packets 3 and 4, medical appointment, interview? London embassy.

Hi, everyone! I filed I-129 F at the end of August and our approved petition arrived at the London embassy on November 23. Still waiting for him to receive packet 3 from the embassy but have all our documents in order (my package with the sponsorship forms arrived to him yesterday) and he's filled out DS-160. I have a few questions about the order of some of the next steps:

1) What does packet 3 contain? A list of required documents? Does it have his interview date?

2) When can he schedule his medical appointment? We have a case number but I read online somewhere that he needs to wait until he has an interview date before the doctor's office will let him schedule a medical. Is this the case?

3) What is the purpose of the "applicant readiness form" the embassy asks him to fill out? Does he need to fill this out before he can get an interview date? If so, this would imply that he can schedule his medical now, fill out the applicant readiness form, and THEN receive an interview date...?

4) What is packet 4, what does it contain, and when does he receive it?

Thank you so much for your help navigating this confusing process! And boy, am I glad to be done with the NVC...they have the worst call lines I've ever encountered!

Hi friend!! You should check out the UK Regional discussion forum where i guarantee this thread will be moved, lol.

1) packet 3 contains a copy of the approval from USCIS, a copy of the i-129f petition, i believe a background check of the USC and instructions on how to book your embassy interview. You do not need this to book that! You can create an account here >> https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-GB/iv/users/sign_in << using your case number and DS160 Barcode. This is where you book your interview.

2) you do not have to wait. You can schedule it now. Follow all the steps here! >> https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/ <<

3) yes, once you have SCHEDULED your medical you can fill out the readiness form. Your medical must precede your interview, and it is recommended by at least 5-7 business days so you do not get a 221g pending receipt of medical.

4) "packet 3" and "packet 4" are general terms which don't necessarily apply to all embassies; London doesn't use these terms. But I'm assuming it's the visa DO NOT OPEN envelope you receive when you're approved

Good luck!! Check out the UK VJers Progress* thread!
