I submitted my I-864 with 2014 tax and pay stubs for my mom. I received interview date. My local consulate requires docs to dropped a week ahead, when dropping docs mom was requested to bring 2015 tax return. At the interview she was denied the visa based on the tax return 2015 , now I am asked to file I-134 , I don't have nobody to that for me. What can I do? Is it ok to wait and use my 2016 tax return? I know that tax will be above the poverty line. Please I need your feedbacks!!!

Send you taxes for 2015, w2, your current pay stubs and a letter from your employer verifying your employement.

I did sent the 2015 tax to the local consulate but it is below the poverty line. The I-134 is used to get a sponsor that can qualify to help get the visa!

HI Anaska..

The form I-134, while it is an affidavit of support, is not the right form that it's to be used in this case.

The I-134 form is to show that visa applicants have sponsorship and will not become public charges while in the United States.

But your relative you are bringing over is not a visa applicant. You are in fact immigrating them over here and in which case you have to fill out the i-864 when in this process.

I would definitely contact NVC to clarify because if they are telling you i-134 then someone is confused on their end.

11/18/16... Checks cashed, received emails and text messages at 5:22pm, cases routed to Texas Service Center

02/22/17... NOA2 for Mom received (Notice Date 02/15/17)

02/28/17... NOA2 for Dad received (Notice Date 02/17/17)

03/01/17... Status online shows application sent to NVC 

03/17/17... Received emails from NVC for next steps!

03/21/17... Went online to Choose an Agent

03/28/17... Received emails from NVC confirming Agent selection and to proceed with the next step (paying fees!)

04/05/17... Paid the $120 Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee online today (Also eligible to pay the $325 Fee but will wait before doing so...)

April-August... Took a break from the process in order to move back from USVI to mainland USA.

08/07/17... Paid the IV Fees for both my parents ($325 each) today

08/23/17... Called NVC because payment still showing "In Process", was advised to email proof of payment to have them manually correct it

08/24/17... CEAC website shows "Paid" and can now have parents' DS-260 forms filled in.
