Hi all,

Popping over from the January filers thread. I have a question for those already approved. Is it normal for the case status to show as "approved" on the USCIS website, without receiving email/text notification?

I'm a little hesitant to believe the approval notice on the website, because it still showed as "received" at 7pm last night, and then showed as "approved" just after midnight, pacific time. Still shows as approved right now. Just makes me wonder, as they stated they were doing system maintenance on the website from 9pm to midnight eastern last night. Just a little paranoid this might be a website bug or data entry error. So, is it normal to show approved on the website and not receive other notifications (even though I signed up for them)?

Thanks, and really hope those of you still waiting are approved ASAP. My received date is Jan. 4, so don't be too mad at me...

Yes, it is not unheard of that you do not receive text/email notifications for NOA2, even if you did receive them for NOA1. You can check again tonight to be sure, but I think the website should be accurate. Congrats! :)

Sorry for meddling, but it's my understanding that you use your Notice date for the VJ Timeline. Just keep in mind the scans use your Received date... so you should have January on there so the estimates work?

Oh well, not biggie... and sure you are a lovely couple. Best of lucks for this week!

It has been 6 days that our case stuck at the NVC , they don't transfer it to the US embassy , So worried ! 🤔😒

We already recieved our Case number 5 days ago.

Does any one know how long would it might take the NVC process?

If you already have your case number then it could be 2-4 weeks as a representative told me but mine was transferred the day after I got my case number.

They sure don't make this easy!  So which one is everyone using?

Thanks!

The doctors not being used to it, concerns me a bit, as I'm stressing a bit about that part.

Do I need a copy of my main medical records (cf to know what time I got my epilepsy etc?) And if not for the embassy, maybe for the AOS?

Make sure to get a copy of DS 3025 - that's the vaccination record you will need to include in your AOS application, in lieu of form I-693 if you file within 1 year from the examination.

Per USCIS:

If you were admitted as a:
A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or
B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and
C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year
of an overseas medical examination; and
(a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or
(b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and
you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver.
(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the
vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included
as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the Part 9. Vaccination
Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1., 2., 3., 4., 6., and 9.
of Form I-693.

I don't know if epilepsy falls under a class A medical condition. Either way you should request a copy of all the medical records the panel physician completes.

That is normal.  I never received an email or text on the NOA2 but the official paper arrived in the mail 5 days later.  The website is accurate and you can celebrate accordingly.

We got the packet 4 email to apply for appointment. All registered and go to set up appointment. Do we pick K visa appointment? I'm just thrown off because it doesnt say K1 and the letter we got keeps referring to immigrant visa. This is for Montreal. I tried to send a picture of the screen but it says its too big.

Yes, pick the K visa appointment. They consider it an " immigrant " visa because you will be moving to the US at some point. Even though we know K's are classified as " non immigrant ". It's just like the CEAC site consideres it " immigrant " when you check the status.  I just had to do this today as well, so congratulations!
