You are correct, you only need the affidavit of support for when you go to the interview. I don't think your fiancé being unemployed at the time of filing the I-129F is reason for a denial, but unless you get an RFE for that I don't think you can or need to send any additional evidence at this point.  They are working on the December cases slowly but surely. :)

It's not a reason, indeed. I was unemployed at the time (waiting to defend my PhD), and I got approved, despite having to fill in the 129F as unemployed for 3 months at that time.

Hey all,

So I sent an email in about my case to the csc center and i got a response the same day, my case is pending security checks :( my initial submit date was 10-4-2016, but my RFE date was Dec 8, and thats where it has been stuck at so I am counting Dec as my date they got my complete packet. Any ideas how long the security checks take? We have been waiting so long and are going crazy to just be together. I know we all on here are going through it or have gone through it but dam, the time is going sooooo slooooow.....

What was your RFE for? Just curious. Security checks vary. It's usually because the country is deemed at more high risk. Unfortunately, you just have to wait it out.

NOA1 was received on Dec 20th, we got notice of our RFE on 3/28, for some blanks on the 325-A that we did not put N/A on, and I forgot to check that I wasnt a felon/murderer/slaver on part 3. I received the paperwork 4/4 and corrected and sent it off. Hope they have a quick turnaround, I am planning on visiting soon and would love to be there for the interview.

I was missing a 1 form and they asked for more pictures and evidence that we met in the last 2 years...i initially provided plane tickets for a trip we took to dubai. But I sent other plane tickets from trips i took to visit her, plus alot of other pictures. I hope this sec check will go by fast, the waiting game sucks!!!

And now the good news: (at least for me and my fiance)

WE GOT APPROVED!!! :)))))))))))))))))))))))

I can not describe, how happy I am. But right before I had a long talk with my fiance, because he was overthinking and couldn't sleep til 4 am.

And a few mins after hanging up, I checked my mails and realized, that we got the notice while we talked. Now I cannot wake him up, because he's already short at sleep.

BUT I'M SO HAPPY AND NEED TO SHARE THAT FEELING!

So for all the lovely couples still waiting: PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! YOUR TIME WILL COME SOON AS WELL!!!

I just got my NVC Number!! Second day of crying and happy dances in the office :P

I'm gonna fill out the ds-160 right now.

My fiance is sending me his i-134 and everything that has to be included with it today. I think I have all my other paper work ready.

I will have to check with work to see whether I can do my medical next week already. And then lets hope that waiting times for interview appointments aren't too long.

Maybe we should have attached the "sponsor" form with the first petition... but we thought it would be necessary just for the second part. After the NOA2

From what I understand, we both thought right. The same happened to us. My fiance was studying only when we filed our case. But, don't worry, you will need to to bring the Affidavit of Support when you go to the interview, and that's where they are going to evaluate your financial situation. At least it is how I understand it.

It has been 111 days for us already. They haven't seem to touched any received on December 14th for several days now (with the exception of 2 from last Friday).  Congrats to everyone who got approved. I am so jealous.
