HI everyone, filed our K1 application on Dec 15th to the Texas lockbox received on Dec 23rd (got a return receipt text from usps, confirmed by USCIS receipt.)  got an email notification on Jan 5th. Received the I-797C (NOA1?) receipt on Jan 9th. Case transferred to the Calfifornia service center. Okay so here's my question what day do I use to start counting? My Fiancé is an OFW in Singapore and she thought her work contract was going to finish on May 7th. Now she realized that the contract is ending on April 7th. There is a possibility that she could be extended for 30 days but I'm afraid that's not going to be enough time. I know that the Singapore Consulate processes Visa applications faster than the Manila Embassy due to lower amount of Visas going through it. I'm worried that we may have to transfer our case to Manila which could add months to our process. Please pray that they speed up approving applications and we all get to be with our loved ones as soon as possible!! God Bless us all!

Thanks for any input, Jon & Malen

Hi everyone! It's getting very close now and the anticipation is killing us. Malen's contract in Singapore has been renewed and she is worried now that her bosses are going to lose their money for the security bond and insurance that's required when you hire a Domestic Worker in SG. I keep telling her that the bosses didn't have to pay out everything at once and that its like a bank loan where you make monthly payments. Once she leaves their employ the bond and insurance ( and she leaves the country.) will be cancelled with no further obligation and unused portion of the months coverage may or may not be refunded. She could only have gotten a 30 day extension of her first contract which ends on April 7th and if we are fortunate enough to get our NOA2 by the week of the 7th it most likely is going to take longer than 30 days to get her police clearances from the Philippine and Singapore police depts. the last thing we want to do is for her to be in country on an expired work permit.

Malen still has not told her bosses that we are getting married because she's afraid that they will send her back to PI as soon as they know about it. The bosses love her cooking, cleaning  and she loves their Cat his name is Moon, that is going to be the hardest part of leaving. She is owed a trip home after her two year contract and she is going to gather her NBI clearance and hopefully when the bosses return her Passport to her she can hold onto it from now on so she has it when her interview time comes. At some point everything has to come out  and I have been trying to get her to tell them for a long time. they are pretty nice people and every time that she's opened up to them they have said " why didn't you tell us?" I know she's scared because this is a very big thing and she doesn't want to go back to PI except to visit.

Sorry for the long post. I hope all of us get approved very soon! God Bless!

Jon & Malen

Hello there, what app can we use to track our petition? Waiting for NOA2 for almost 90 days now. NOA1 received date was Jan4/17. We filed our petition last Dec 15 and USCIS was received date was Dec 19.

I hope you can help me get a realistic estimate on when our case will be touched as I need it badly for my daughter's schooling this year.  (My daughter is a derivative beneficiary, she'll join me when i fly) We don't want to risk a big amount of school fees only for her to stop once we get approved. The fees aren't refundable. Enrollment will be on first week of May.

Here's the details of our case: Our received date is December 28. NOA1 letter dated Jan.9. My VJ estimate as of today is between April 9&12. How close are we to this estimate? I just can't do the math just like you do, guys haha... Is end week of March still possible? Thank you in advance.

Aloha! ?

I know i'm not them, but I estimate you will not be able to get your daughter to the USA by the first week of May. Once you get NOA2 it's another 2 months. So if your estimasted day is april 9-12, you will not get your visa itself until july1 at best. As for the estimation of the NOA2, it seems to be backed up now. So regardless if they're on time or not, i would not think you could make it for your daughter's school on time if you are using a i-129f for k visa

@dbirdflyshi hey thanks for the reaponse. Though i apologize for the confusion. I meant May Enrollment here in the Philippines and not in the US. :)

Since we're still waiting for our NOA2, i don't know if i still need to enroll my daughter here in the Philippines or not anymore. When we started planning for this K1, we thought we could get an interview approval before May1 but looks like it would remain a wishful thinking haha... If not, we'll be risking the unrefundable school fees here in PH by May1 because i dont want my daughter to stop schooling while waiting as everything is somehow non-guaranteed, anyway.

I hope there is still a possibility that we get our NOA2 next week.

Though thanks to your reply that we 'may' get our visa by July1. ?

As a rough estimate, I would say "soon". For a more technical aspect, your case has an 85% chance (the confidence level I've been using) of being touched between now and the next 3 weeks. As for hearing back just in the next week (within March), I'd guesstimate a little over 33% chance. If you did get it in March, the earliest reasonable time to expect the interview would be mid May. It could be sooner if NVC gets it quickly and sends it quickly, but I normally estimate a month on the low side right now. There are some taking only 2-3 weeks, but some are taking 5-6 weeks as well. Then at least 3 weeks from arrival to interview, albeit if you prep well and get an early interview date, you may be able to get it within 2 weeks after arrival.

tldr: It's possible to have it by early May, but pretty unlikely. I'd say early June would be a more realistic projection.
