December 2016 Filers (merged)

Did anyone else's NOA1 get lost in the mail? We originally filed on Dec 5th and had an NOA1 sent out on the 9th, but it got lost. We've since rectified it, but now have no idea if/when to expect our NOA2.

We got an update from Dec. 22, 2016 that stated our NOA1 was returned to the USCIS by the post office. We applied from the country we met and lived together in, South Korea, rather than either of our home countries. Our friends have done so in the past with no issues, but we just got really unlucky.

 

Anyway, we managed to change our Korean address to my family's address in America on Jan 20th. My family received our NOA1 at the new, American address on with a new "Notice Date" of Jan 23rd. But now... nothing. The online status still says "Document was Returned to USCIS." 

We called the customer service line about 100 times and got no firm answers as to our status. They claim our original NOA1 date of Dec 9th (when it later got lost) is still our NOA1 date, but everyone else has already gotten their NOA2s, but we have no answers.

Does anyone else have a similar issue?

OMG everything moves so fast

 

congrats to those who got approved.

To those who hasnt been approved yet, stay put, nothing we can do but to wait. 

I wish USCIS will work fast and pay attention to some November cases too. My heart for those November filers who havent heard any goodnews yet ???

Hey Roger,

I have noticed from your timeline that you sent in your app. on 12/22/2016 with a NOA1 for 12/27/2016. Is this information correct on your timeline? The reason I am asking is that I sent my app. on 12/17/2016, received at lockbox on 12/21/2016 with NOA1 date on notice I received being 01/02/2017. Is possibly the date you have on your timeline for the sent is the date your app. was received? Just curious cause I am hoping that my case will possibly be reviewed also next week.

Sent in w Fedex on the Dec 22nd, arrived the 23rd to get the old pricing.. 

NOA1 Receipt is the 27th, check cashed.  The written notice received Jan 6th

 

I hope we are next week too!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok that explains a lot. I had sent mine by regular mail knowing that it was being sent before the fee increase and knowing that it would also be received before the fee increase. So your app. was received the 23rd of Dec. where mine was the 21st of Dec.

Yes, just going by what the stats that are being posted we both could be having our cases looked at next week. Best of luck to you too.

I would just focus on your receive dates. This VJ wanting NOA1 official dates makes no sense as apps use your receive date anyway. Still hope VJ changes database to receive date at some point as this causes a lot of confusion on every tracking thread.

I appreciate any update or a good guestimate where we might fall.. 

 

Like everyone here its just stressful did I fill everything out ok.. what did I miss or they need now?? IM ok with RFE  I spent good time with Grace..  we talk everyday through Facechat, on Facebook and since 12 ahead... every am every night too..

Hi Beatriz I don't post the list its @geowrian and @AkesAngel they are awesome! And well no one can really tell you why your case hasn't been touch....its really randomly from the USCIS. Some have been waiting more than 110 days( since October 2016) and their cases haven't been touched. But if you see the list they're getting there ...its really up to luck and the USCIS workers ...but hey hang in there we'll get there sooner than you think!!
