From others posting the CSC (California Service Center) is the only one processing the K1 visas.   There are a multitude of reasons for the backlog.

1. There was a huge up tick in submissions in the last couple months of 2016. A few hundred a day in some cases.

2. Not a lot generally happens around the holidays so between Christmas and New Years things probably moved at a snails pace.

3. There supposedly was some training in January so not a lot was done during that time.

As of late they seemed to have moved into hyper drive and there have been several days where triple digit processing has occurred.

There are a couple of people who are extracting the data and posting it daily to help relieve the anxiousness. Check the November filers forum as well Geo is amazing when it comes to posting that.

Nothing relieves the anxiety. But it helps.

Just know the clock keeps ticking and everyday is one day closer. This will definitely teach you patience and flexibility. I waited 87 days. There are some who've waited a whole lot longer. Personally it helped me hearing others get approved so I could vicariously enjoy there happiness.

I would like to respectfully challenge the statement made by numerous posters on the site that there was a huge uptick in submissions in late 2016.  In an average month last fiscal year, USCIS received 4407 I-129F petitions (this data is on the USCIS website).  As far as I can tell, per Geo's file on December applications there were 4465 petitioners, i.e., just another average month. Unless I am mistaken in how I am reading it, here is Geo's data for December: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1B_oR3Imoi-dVhQSG02YkFhVjg.  Personally, I think the slowdown was due to the holidays and some USCIS staff being redirected to process other types of applications in late 2016.

Just for clarity to fill in the blanks here and understand where we are.

1) I sent paperwork through Federal Express and mailed it Dec 22nd  so arrived Dec 23rd  at the old price...to the Dallas Lock box.

2) I received text to me (below message) I guess it has been sent from there to California if I understand it right on Jan 6th?

3) The hard copy (receipt notice) had the Jan 6th date (Arrived) in California Jan 6th  printed on the NOA 1 Receipt?

OUR QUESTION IS:

Is our NOA1 date Dec 27, or Jan 6th, if I am looking a projected timeline?

The USCIS office in Indianapolis, Indiana, is in my building.  I booked an appointment last week, and she said to just wait for the NOA2? and our case is in process? She smiled said these things just take time. (The "Anticipation" song plays here...LOL)  We are just like everyone else in here.  We are trying to not second guess ourselves, but hopefully they have everything and we will hear soon this month. Below is what was emailed to us and is on the My USCIS status page.   Any input appreciated.

On December 27, 2016, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by January 26, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Any advice where we might be? And did I enter the dates in here correctly to follow our own journey?

Hi Rodger&Grace,

We have the same dates :) our NOA 1 date is 1/6/2017. The application was received at on 12/27/16 at the Texas Center, but they reviewed it and everything was correctly filed and are sending it to the CSC (California Service Center) for approval. Now we are waiting for our NOA2, which means they have approved the application and we are ready for medical exam and interview.

received date: 12/27/16 and NOA1 date: 1/6/17 ....70 days have pass since received date....60 days from NOA1(but who's counting :jest:)

Yes I'm estimating to get NOA2 by the end of this month too or maybe during the first days of April. Also, do you know how it works for Mexico? Do we receive a letter by consulate? Idk if they send it to petitioner and benefitiary, cause Mexico mail system usually takes ages to deliver something.
