Good morning everyone.  :)  I have a random question... Hopefully one someone here can answer. ha.  Which date do we go on when if comes to counting how long our case is being processed?  Our NOA1 date is Jan 5 so that puts us at 47 days since then but when I get on the app to track our case it says 62 days active (our receive date was Dec 23).  Not sure which one of these I should be using when it comes to our "wait time". lol.

Thanks in advance!

We have the exact same dates so I'm going to be right there with you!! Good luck!

Hello Guys,

We are very close to be on the next step the NOA2 ,  Lets start talking a little bit of that, we as a petitioner we have to get ready the financial  affidavit to send it to our fiancee / fiance.

I am a self employed and I can manage, deduct my expenses and get it lower or get it higher, affecting my final net gross income. Do you guys know what is the safe base of income, good enough to attach it for the purpose of this fiancee / fiance petition in order to be approve ?

Maybe some of you are in the same position or have the same question.

Thanks guys !!!

Hey Javier,

i worked with a lawyer for the application but I know I provided tax returns and letter from my employer but no sure if it included salary and financial affidavit in the initial application.

is this normal or abnormal practice to include those in the initial application?

Think it is better to have the I-134 Affadavit of Support form just in case the embassy asks the beneficiary a question about your income but I do think that it is mainly needed with adjustment of status after you are married for that interview. As far as being self employed think you will need tax transcripts and documents proving your income is 125% over the poverty line though

Anything not required by the I-129F but submitted with the application might not be viewed or credited (they don't have time to read extra documents and those financial situation changes frequently).   You can prepare I-134 now and send the signed form to your fiancee once your case is with NVC, along with the bank statement (issued by bank officer with starting and ending balance in 2016), W-2, last 3 years tax return transcripts, employment letter, etc. The consular officer will like to have the financial statements not older than 30 days before the interview.  The poverty guideline currently available on USCIS site is for 2016, the new one for 2017 might be out next month.

So means you already got NOA2???

What did you do to get that with filing in December? Most of November filers are still waiting ...

I don't know but every thing went just smooth. By the way I filed in October. Just waiting for my package 3 from the embassy now. Good luck
