We got the great news she was approved last Thursday Aug 17th. The k-1 packet was supposed to be delivered to the wan-chi office in Hong Kong for pick up by Grace in 2-3 business days. I know they had a typhoone go through, but no one can tell me anything on the phone other than it looks like it's in process.  So no news at all, other than it's being prepared by the consulate for delivery.  I emailed them today the auto responder said I should hear something in three days.  Everything we have done it seems our case is slower but it eventually goes through.

 

Anything else I should be doing, other than pray? She's extremely frustrated I'm trying to remain calm and strong for her/us!!    Roger

Good morning,  Can buy  a  one way ticket for  fiancee from Jamaica  to USA on K1 visa ?

hi guys. so the fiance has completed the DS-160 and has his medical exam on Monday. We are trying to complete all of the documents needed so when we receive the letter from the embassy, we are all set to just send. 

 

Should he hold off on paying for the visa and/or scheduling the interview until we hear from the embassy for packet 3? it seems like the Embassy in Cairo is slow on reaching out to visa applicants. We already emailed them on Friday so are hoping to hear soon. 

 

Anyone else go through something similar with their embassy?

Wait till packet 4, for the final sent in packet,   Packet 3 is like a RFE and 4 will give you the ok to do the medical and D 160 payment online and after that can schedule the final interview.

there is no packet 4 for Cairo, I think it defers from country to country. Packet 3 is basically just instructions for my fiance to send them a copy of all the required documentation via aramex to the embassy and to bring the originals to the interview. so we are ok for submitting the DS-160 (our lawyer gave us the green light) and we are ok on medical since it is valid for 6 months. I guess we will just hold off on scheduling the interview.

I am happy to share we had our interview this morning. She got drilled a little because i had previous petition and withdraw.but after the officer talked to me and I told him that i realized it looked bad that i filed another k1 shortly after withdrawing my previous one.

Hi guys! My fiancé had his interview today and was put on administrative processing. I think we are both in complete shock. After the longest wait for our NOA2, we are now going to be waiting indefinitely to see if we will get approved. There are so many people in VJ who interviewed in Cairo who were put on AP, someone has been on AP since November 2016. I don't know what to do now.
