So most of the people who were interviewed in Sydney on the same day as me last week have already received their visas and here we are still in AP. :( I know it's only been just over a week but why can't one thing ever go smoothly?

So my fiancé was approved today. The interviewer only asked how we met and then told him he was approved.

Wishing everyone else luck in the process!

So they asked 1 question? What if you haven't had a formal engagement or date? Doesit matter? It's not a thing for us. We already have a 2 year old.

He arrives on the 25th of this month. We will have to wait a bit before filing the AOS since we've had a lot of expenses in the process so far

I'm not sure what you mean by no formal engagement? Well after further conversation there were more questions. Has he had any trouble with the law, if he had been to USA before. Who proposed and how did we meet. When we filed our I129 we just put down that it was over the phone then more formal in person when I traveled to Mexico.

On a very important side note. My fiance said there were a number of people turned away for lack of documentation. Mainly for not supplying W2 requests. So i would say make sure to bring this with you.

Formal as in the "will you marry me question" with a date? We didn't do all of that. We always talk about marriage so it's not a big deal for us.

I submitted a lot of documentation. I submitted call logs from calling card, whatsapp and messenger, pictures and airlines tickets. Even our son's birth certificate. I'm going to see him next week so I will have additional photos etc - how do I submit those?

I have my last 3 years taxes so that's not an issue.

In our case it was a question they asked about who proposed so I'm thinking it should be formalized. If the answe is we have done it formally it may be a red flag. I would er on the cautious side since you don't want them to question anything. They really do have sole discretion on approving the application.
