we are on the same boat, ours was sent to the embassy last 4May and up to now, the status is still in transit. we dont know if we should call the embassy or wait a little longer.

You should try calling. Ours took only 5 days in transit before our status changed to ready.. i dont think it takes that long for it to be sent fromUS to PH

Hello!

Our consulate is here in Qatar as I am a permanent resident and will be more easier than home country.

i have asked some of the members who processed their petition here in Qatar also as per them they took 2-3 weeks.

We can call them and ask? because as per the mail received by my fiance from NVC, it has been forwarded to Qatar consulate and they will contact us once they are ready to process our petition.

After much yelling, calling, emailing, and with absolutely no assistance from our district congressman (that I'm aware of at least), we are finally approved. I received an email this morning saying an approval notice was mailed June 1. The tracker is still showing received. Unfortunately, it comes too late to keep up from having to change all of our wedding plans, but that's an issue we're willing to work with, just knowing we're done with the process.

Here's hoping and praying everyone else still waiting from early December will see the end of this in the next week or two. Thank you to everyone who ran scans, posted updates, and offered advice!

Congrats. I am so happy for you. That gives me hope that we will get something in the next few weeks. This waiting has killed my spirit to do anything lately.

I'm past 4 months now, and the same thoughts go through my head. I ask myself, "What could possibly be the hold-up?" and "Why all the hush-hush?". The USCIS just seems to be a bunch of lackadaisical dullards. There's nothing complex about my case, it's all straight forward stuff. Not that I ever thought highly of the government in the first place, this just confirms what I already knew.

Ours was exactly the same. No previous marriages, no children, no criminal record, and South Africa is not generally seen as a security risk. After some of the conversations I had with USCIS officers, I came to the conclusion that they intentionally won't give out information on delays because they don't want to risk anyone being able to use that information in exactly this kind of law suit. In our case, I really do think it was just setting on someone's desk and that was it. I don't think it was a legitimate delay because of security or anything. It's really hard to accept that this is the best we can do as a nation.

So all that calling and you ended up getting an email? I'm glad you didn't get a RFE! Things should definitely speed up now for you!

Just need your NVC number and you'll be good to go!

Thanks! Yeah...they sent a weird email saying that I or someone representing our case had contacted them because we believed our case to be outside the normal processing time. Then it gave some details about the case, and at the bottom stated what was being done to resolve the issue. It said an approval notice had been mailed on June 1 and we should wait to receive the hard copy. June 1 was after my last attempt to get any info out of them, but I think it all just took its normal course. My guess is the email was a response to an online inquiry I submitted forever ago. lol

Congratulations!!! Sorry to see that the approval is sooooo late. You would probably need another month at least to get visa ready and then another montrh to get everything else ready to travel to the US. But be positive :)

You mentioned that the online tracker is not working for you since it still says "Received", then who is the sender of the email you received? I am just so tired of checking online tracker + email + snail mail letter box, not knowing when to hold my breadth when checking each of them...

Wish you the best luck for the visa application!

In our case we think we received the email as a response to an old online inquiry we submitted a while back. So it just lined up that way. It did come from USCIS...could have been because of the last phone conversation I had with them as well. A lot of people have been receiving their hard copy long before their tracker updates though, and unfortunately it doesn't look like that's getting fixed any time soon.

I have sent an email yesterday to USEM here in Qatar and they have responded immediately, however they do not have any record of our case and advised me to contact NVC.

which i did today, as per NVC they have sent the case to Qatar via DHL and to try and check it to USEM on friday.

Hoping that by friday will get a good news.

I finally was able to talk to a tier 2 immigration officer. And I got nothing useful out of the call.  After waiting 2 hours for a call back and being on hold for 5 more mins, I got the same answer "all you can do is wait, we are only one day pass your submission date. You can call us back after August 30th if you have not heard anything by then."

August 30th? That's nearly 9 months from when you filed, that is crazy. :o

I really hope you and the others still waiting for NOA2 here get it soon, and certainly not in August because that would be an unbearable wait...
