Why do you need a lawyer? Unless your case is complicated for some reason you shouldn't need one.

I already have a lawyer. Just looking for data trends.

Well my fiance just had her interview! Approved! She was out of there within 2 hours! Only asked her 3 questions.

Congratulations! This part of your process went so quickly, this is the advantage of an embassy that lets you select interview dates!

Our NOA2 and NVC dates are the same and we're still waiting on an interview date although packet 3 has been long received.

Congrats again!

Thanks! We actually don't even get packet 3.I just looked it up online. The interview was actually scheduled for June 23rd, but I got lucky and kept checking online and got a spot on June 1st. I'm very surprised that lots of embassies don't let you schedule your own interviews.

What's odd is they didn't even ask for additional paperwork they didn't even ask for the affidavit of support.

Good luck!

Usually, the foreign fiance fills it out. You can help, but she has to be the one to submit it.

Their's a part where they'll ask for your receipt number. Some people use the case number (in my case it starts with MNL for Manila), but we used the receipt number on the NOA1 and NOA2 and we had no issues at all. So, yes you can do it now.

Thanks for the info.

Ill give it a try today.

Also looking at documents needed at the interview lists. Sponsors Birth Certificate or Passport. Are copies fine or do I need to send my fiancé the originals?

We used a lawyer because we live abroad and the team is better to handle the paper work as they are stateside; we're not. We did not want huge gaps in correspondence as the process is already very long.

Copies are fine. Only things that need to be original are like the affidavit of support because it needs to be a live signature.

Please help!

I think we've completed the wrong paper. Are we suppose to complete the DS 160 or DS 260? We completed the DS 160 . If this is correct, is there a link to schedule the interview online?

it's the 160. I don't think you can schedule an interview until your status says "ready".

Depends on your country. I scheduled mine when it said at NVC. Generally, you should wait until it says ready though. In case their's a delay of some kind.

Hey guys, I need some help 😭How can I check my NVC status?

Our case was approved on may 15th and we got the letter on may 20th (I believe). And since then we are collecting documents because I thought we should wait for a letter from the NVC before taking the next step. I am felling kind of lost 😰

You need to call and get your case number. Then you look it up on the CEAC tracking website

We got our NVC case number today after almost 20 days. :)

The status say "At NVC" and to follow six steps. Is that required for K1 visa?

K1 does not follow the 6 steps! You wait until it says ready then schedule your appointment online. (depending on your country of course)
