The processing time on USCIS website finally updated (now showing December 15, 2016). So I finally was able to submit an online inquiry, and it said I will get a response to the inquiry by June 14, 2017. So that will be exactly 6 months since they received my petition :( .

Hi guys!

It's hard to see that are still people waiting for approval when other people that filed later are approved already.

I never thought I'd have to wait 6 months after sending our package to have the interview.

My fiance and I are both happy this is about to end but I'm worried that after all this time we get denied at the embassy.

Anyone know what would be the cases to get denied on the interview?

I'm worried that I sent the DS-160 when I was still working and now I'm unemployed waiting with my family for the interview.  Would they consider that the info I submitted It's wrong and that I lied? (Since the info in the DS-160 won't match my current situation)

Am I just being paranoid?

But I'd really want to know what would be a reason to get denied or put under administrative procedure?

I would suggest to call USCIS and ask to be transferred to a tier 2 officer, I just did that today. I am a January filer, and I was told that yesterday an RFE was ordered for my case. It all depends on the officer you get as well, the one I spoke to was really helpful.

Oh okay I will try to call after work today. I have called twice already and just got the same old speech about how it is still within their processing time. But I will try to see if I can get a Tier 2 officer like you had recommended. Thank you

Yeah I've called so many times and got the same old story but finally I asked for a tier 2 and they can see more into your case. The tier 2 officers only work until 5:30pm PST and I had to wait 95 minutes for them to call me back.

I just tried calling and all they could do was submit a service request in for me. They wouldn't transfer me to a Tier 2 officer.

Sometimes it depends on the person you get on the phone, I've gotten a few not helpful, but today I lucked out. Hopefully the service request will give you better information!

How long does it takes to get MNL case number from NVC? We're approved last May 8, and until now NVC haven't received my case yet 😔😔.

Hang in there. They will have our case numbers soon. Mine noa2 is May 9 and still have no luck as of yet.

From what I've heard the DHL booth is no longer at the embassy, so you would have to return home and then mail your passport back to them. So annoying!

OK we are finally approved!! YES!!  And thank you all for the kind well wishes too!

Grace is going to complete the process in Hong Kong where she has lived/worked for like nine years.

My question is this, after she gets her k1 visa in her hands in HK.... Can she go home to visit her parents for a week in the Philippines before flying to the USA flying out of the Philippines?

I feel for her in that who knows when she might see her parents, it might be years or something... they are getting older too.  We do plan to go back to the Philippines to visit after a few years,  but who knows 100% anything in the future?

We we certainly do NOT want to start over In the Philippines, (there are extra classes in the Philippines like CFO and things move like pond water slow..)

Any past experiences or rules?  I have no clue. Just looking into it now.  I do know she has  a set time after getting the k-1 visa to fly here to be with me in the USA,  or the fiancé k1 visa is invalid.

Anyone know the rules?

Roger I asked the same question  Grace can go back to the Philippines to visit before she comes to the us. The visa is good for six months from the date of issue. If she's going to wait very long you should let the Embassy know to extend your application because there has been issues with a valid Visa but an expired application. It doesn't make sense to me but I've read of cases on here. Since she's been living in Hong Kong I think she may have already gone through the classes but it's not a huge deal to do them again I'd think. Congrats!! Jon & Malen

Hello. I need help.

I'm done with my medical today at SLEC but they didn't give me the sealed brown envelope because they said there was a typo on one of their reports (their fault). SLEC told me that no need for me to go back to pick it up, they will be the one to forward the medical report to USEM before my June 6 embassy interview.

My questions:

1. How accurate it is that said corrected medical report will reach the embassy before my interview? We're 8 business days away to our June 6 interview. I'm worried that this may cause us a 221g form (pending visa approval).

2. Should I still proceed with the interview or better to reschedule it to a later date? Can I make follow ups with SLEC if they already sent it?

3. May I insist to have my 'sealed' envelope picked up by me to avoid delays? (i won't mind travelling to and fro)?

What i have with me now is the Xray chest CD and my stamped passport (2 SLEC stamps) as proof that I already completed the medical process.

Hope to get smart advice here on VJ as usual.

Aloha. 🙂
