Some seem to have to wait longer for NOA1 as well. 

I did not know the fee increased. 

My boyfriend called them today and they said they are working on Nov 16th files and asked to call back again in two weeks.

Ya that's a typical response by them. You almost always get a generic response. The visa fees went up significantly on December 23rd, so lots of people filed on December 22nd to avoid the increase.

3 weeks with instructions for Doing the Ds-160 and appointment . When u gather all necessary documents that are listed ,you sign your signature in print on the paper provided in the Packet 3 , along with DS-160 barcode number and mail it back to the embassy in Barbados and they will re-schedule another interview thus send Packet 4 via snail mail or e-mail . ( Guessing that contains appointment letter for the medical )

Call and give them your USCIS number, they can tell you if it's been received and if they have the case number they'll give it to you. 

Packet 3 is what is sent by the embassy if i'm not mistaken, that gives instructions on what needs to be done for the interview to be scheduled. Since @Queen30 and I are both going through the same embassy, I'll be expecting to receive one as well via snail mail which is why I was wondering how long it took to get hers.  At the Bridgetown embassy we are assigned interview dates so we have to wait for information from them!

Just called and got my case number!!! They just received it today, so I don't know I got so lucky.

Do I have to wait until the status says ready to do the interview? How long until it says ready usually? 

 

We'd like to try and knock out that medical and everything soon.

according to VJ status, usually leave the NVC around 5 days until reaching to the Embassy (ready status) then you can request for package 3 and schedule interview appointment.

Please correct if Im wrong

I'm in the Philippines I don't need packet 3. We just schedule our interview online. We're a bit different.

No the NVC recieved our case after 16 days from our NOA2 approval letter.

In 3 to 4 days your status will change to Reday for Philippines.
