So I've been watching this thread and I'm a bit confused. I see people keep posting 130 or 120 days until approval. So is this how long it takes before you get the visa approval or before they send it off to NVC and interviews start happening?

Hello Tunapiano,

First would like to make you aware that this forum is for K-1 visa and notice that you are applying for IR-1/CR-1 visa. There is a separate forum for members that are applying for that kind of visa. As to your question about days until approval, those have been the average number of days for the USCIS to approve the K-1 visa applications prior to being sent to the NVC. Once it has gotten to the NVC, they then assign another case number to the application that will be used by the Embassy handling the visa and also that case number is a way for to track the applications progress to the Embassy. Once it is at the Embassy they then send out a packet to the beneficiary with instructions for paperwork to be completed along with the medical prior to going to the interview and getting approved for the visa. What I have just told you is the process for the K-1 visa. Not sure if it is the same for the type of visa you have applied for. Best advice is that you check with the forum concerning the type of visa you applied for to get advice.

Useful Information for anyone with cases that are 30 Days or greater beyond their estimated adjudication

If you case is approaching 60 days past the USCIS processing times you should contact the office of Ombudsman . They are the overseeing agency ensuring USCIS is doing their job.

Although I am a January Filer I thought to pass this information along to your group to see if they can help expedite your case.

Hey all!

For those who have filled out the i-134 and included an answer to the real estate question do you have to include proof someone of that real estate? If my co-sponsor put their real estate value (house) do they need to show proof of that? If so, what kind of proof is necessary? And will that need to be included in those additional questions on page 7 where you can explain stuff?

Thanks in advance!

I did not provide proof of the value of my house or how much money I still owe. I did not even know how much the value of my house. I estimated it based on google search. The money still owed is listed on my mortgage statement so I put that.

You're looking at incorrect information about what I applied for. I just asked a simple question. I filed my 129f a week ago and was just asking for clarification.

Their is no set timeline. It just depends for NOA2 it's anywhere from 80 to 130 days or so on average. If you check the timeline estimates on here it'll help.

We are Early December Filers

Received a RFE 3/3

Got RFE in mail 3/9

Respond 3/16

Approved 3/24

Soon as we got the RFE notification via USCIS website , we received our filed petition I-129F and notice we didn't spend a beneficiary letter of intent to marry within 90days. So we started working on that right away.

It's wise to look over your sent application and work immediately on errors/ stuff you missed out so when you actually get the RFE letter your ahead to mail the response back out!

Tips

1) Ensure you make a copy of the blue letter and instructions letter sent by USCIS for yourself and SEND back the ORIGINAL copy to USCIS ensuring it's the 1st page they see when they open up your RFE response package.

2) Ensure you use priority Mailing so you can receive a tracking number to track your package . Use to make sure USCIS receives the RFE response . Send back response early as possible.

3) Use RE:// address given by USCIS to mail back response

4) Add additional photos, emails , convos, letters etc, you have a second chance to prove your case!

Good Luck!!

Thank you so much! We have looked over our forms dozens of times and we're pretty sure we didn't miss a thing. Intent to marry letters were there, too, as well as maybe ten pages of photos. I have a very strong feeling our RFE is due to us meeting via OkCupid. Heard that many people got an RFE because of it. Already sent an email to OkCupid. Hope we get the mail soon. Again, thank you! :D

Hello! January filer here. Got an RFE yesterday and was wondering if there's any December filers who got an RFE who has already gotten an approval? Would like to know how long it'll take to get an approval after we send our RFE response. I found answers on some forums but I was horrified when I read that people got their RFE response after 3-6 months. @_@

We got our RFE letter Apr 27. Mailed Apr 19 as per the USCIS Website. Ours is silly and stupid. Missed answering page 5 on the I-129F Form. Along with the letter, they sent us back that page with a marker on the part we've missed. We just sent back our reply Friday. Hopefully, we'll hear something within this week. I read negative feedback about it but also some people got approved in just a day. I think everyone's case is different. Let's stay positive and hope for the best. Good luck! :)

Your welcome !!

Yes send a email to the online dating site so they can verify that they are not IMB and print out that e-mail convo for your response back to USCIS.

Also both beneficiary and petitioner can also write a letter on how you guys met and emphasizing that you didn't meet via A IMB website , membership and communication was free of charge and you were  responsible for your finding person of your own interest etc

You can send photos on social media conversations, skype etc

Good Luck!

Your not going to make any friends in here being rude tunapiano.  For one thing, you are in a December filers thread.  Herhorizon answered your question as well.  The number of days is for the NOA 2 approval.  Have a nice day!

We also got an RFE notice last 26 April and we have yet to receive it in the mail, thus, we have no idea what the RFE is about so far. There could be many reasons but we also met in OkCupid so it could also be that. We'll see.
