Hello everyone, we receive a notice stating that I got my 485 approved without going for an interview and 2 weeks later I received my green card in the mail. My husband and I are super excited.

We know our journey doesn't end there.

We would like to know what's next? Seeing as we never got to go for an interview, im seeing online that we need to go to our nearest local USCIS office with my passport to receive a stamp inside.

Anyone have any idea on what to do, my husband and I would be grateful?

Many are approved without interview. Don't bother going to your local USCIS office. Not sure where you saw online that you needed to do that. You don't. They won't give you a stamp in your passport, as you have your green card and there is no need for an I-551 stamp.

Now you live your lives, enjoy your marriage and time together, save evidence of your bona fine relationship for when it comes time to file for ROC in a little less than 2 years from now.

Thank you so much. I feel so much better knowing that. When I heard I was wondering why I needed a stamp when I already had a card. Just wanted to be sure I don't make any mistakes in our procedures. Again thank you

Yes, no stamp required. I was a little nervous the first time I travelled outside the USA after getting my greencard, but it was fine. Coming back into the USA you just use the green card as your ID document (you'd obviously have your passport with you too).

Just bring your Greencard with you when you travel and there will be no problems at all when trying to get back in the country. Just be happy that you got accepted and your greencard without an interview. My wife was so worried when we had to go to her interview.

Just sit back and have a beer to celebrate.
