Welcome to Texas. Dimassi's Mediterranean Cafe is great! I eat there like once a week. I love the variety of mditerranean dishes.

If you like Dimassi's, you should try Aladdin's on Westheimer and Montrose. So much fresher and better.

Sorry Amal, I know your husband's friend owns Dimassi's

I inherited land in Texas that I have never seen. I suppose a trip south is in order!

Wll there are a few Dimassis in Houston. One in the Galleria, sugar land, highway 6, wood lands and the other one over in the rice village. I have always had fresh food but I guess it just depends on the location you visit. There are also some new Persian joints that opened up on Hillcroft that are yummy. Fadis is also yummy.

Alladin is w/in walking distance from my place. I love it...eat there at least once a week! I believe it is owned by the same family that owns and operates Fadi's(which I also love)....not sure but I think.

You may also want to check out Droubi's for your groceries...that and Phoenecia Deli.

Good luck w/ the move, enjoy Houston/Sugarland! :)

:crying:, I am in Dallas so I can't meet up with you guys . . . unless I decide to do a road trip . . . I have a good friend in Houston I could visit, hehe!! She keeps asking me to come down to see her dance class perform (LOL, she started up bellydance classes after meeting me and hearing about what I have been doing).

There are a few Fadi's in Dallas. Yes, the food is good . . . a bit more expensive than the smaller places that I usually go to . . . but still yummy and definitely reliable. I've been able to drag my co-workers to eat there because it is in the area near my work and is easier for them to order since they can see what they are ordering as they walk thru the line. Now I am wondering where they started up??? OK, Houston . . . LOL, remember "google is your friend" . . . here's their website with menu, etc Fadi's

I just got back from Fadis across from the Mayerland plaza, and now here I am sitting on my desk sleepy as hell!. I litterally had to be rolled to my computer LOL. Im stuffed!

In case any one is intrested I spoted a new grocery store on Hillcfroft that carries nothing but specialty products from Jordan. Its called Jordan Goroceries I guess its hard to miss with that name. Must be a good place to stock up on hard to find products that are not available at the regular grocers.
