No amendment. But it's covered in USC. 4 & 36 talk about the how, where, when, why. 18 USC 700 talks about the penalty for desecration. It's there, but it isn't enforced. Texas vs. Johnson, 1989, argued in favor of Johnson for burning a US Flag.

Then again, people get it wrong all the time. Displaying a flag 24 hours a day is wrong. Leaving it outside in inclement weather is wrong. Leaving it displayed when it is frayed is wrong. Wearing a bathing suit that looks like a flag is wrong. Lots of wrongs, because a LOT of people just don't really care anymore.

sorry to contradict you there is an act protecting the flag but no ratified ammendment

Maybe we should look at that again..it was the law at the beginning of the country and only landowners voted until 1828.

And while we are at it we can tack on a constitutional amendment to protect the flag

And you guys are worried about Sharia law in America. You'll have your own version going in no time.

Comical just how closely the extremes are aligned and yet neither one realizes it.

Ahem. Sharia isn't a law. Haven't you been paying attention? ;)

I would if you guys would stop getting the threads locked.

I was thinking of a different word, but I know what you mean.

You're talking about a time where how many countries actually cared about the people's vote? Hell, how many sovereign countries even existed then?

So if you're just starting to get ahead in your life trying to save money or whatever, and you're 25 and don't own property yet does that mean you shouldn't vote?

If one or both lost their job and had to foreclose does that mean they can't vote? Because if it does, welcome to the hunger games.

I think that may be what some in this country may actually want though. Which is concerning.

depends, how far back can you trace back your land owning roots? two generations? one? are you white? i'm sure these questions will help decide if a person is eligible to a vote..
