I spent the majority of last night filling out he DS-160 form for myself and an additional one for each of my children, I sent the e-mail to the consulate with all the information they required for packet 3. I received an e-mail this morning saying:

"We have received the information you requested, however, yo have to either correct or re-submit your DS-160, you must select the k1/fiance(e) visa category for you and for your children you must select the child of k1 for each of them, please do so and resend us the e-mail so we can continue with the process'

This is all good and well however nowhere on anything I filed out did it ask me to select the visa type of a type for my kids. I even redid a new application to see if I messed up somewhere. HELP!!!!!

Thank you for your response, I went and started another ds-160 application, on the 1st and 2nd page it asks for personal information only and does not give you the option to pick a visa category. I do not recall seeing an option to do so anywhere on the application and have to wonder if I could even finalize the ds-160 without selecting any option? That must be what I had done yesterday but cannot figure out how.

There is an option on the type of visa you're applying for ...it rolls down and you all type of visa listed, then you gotta select the one that applies for you.

And thank you, the was my mistake, I put in our next travel date to the US under B2, did not go to K1/K2 and out in our hopeful arrival date. I redid all the DS-160 forms last night and sent everything in, it's been accepted and now to make our appointment and get our medicals done! Very excited! Again appreciate your help, I feel silly that I missed that.
