It's just that it's quick money (i think).. You're guaranteed 75hrs/mth at 17.50$/hr to start.

If that's the best reason you have to wanting to pursue this, consider that a regular f/t job at $8.00/hr (comes to $1,386.65/month) effectively pays about the same as 75hrs/month @ $17.50 ( which totals 1,312.50). I think the former is much easier to come by and much easier on a marriage. ;)

 I dont think its quick money nor is it easy...:lol::lol:

Flight attendant guidelines are very strickt and quite demanding. Nothing quick about it.

training is very intense. you like being up and at the airport report for duty at 4am sharp. can you handle

that " all the time" ? do you get along well with strangers? - you do realize you wont always travel with the same crew members. it changes all the time.

Thank you so much guys! You've all made me feel ashamed of wanting a flight attendant job which would require me to be away from home often.

It's not sarcasm, i really mean it.

One person thought that i was the USC, but it's my husband that is.

Shonjaved, i guess i missed the part in the skywest site that mentioned 6MTHS TRAINING!!

I have alot of experience and am great with customer service. I also speak 3 languages fluently. I was hired 2yrs ago by JETSGO but i never went for training because it was from 5-midnight for 3wks..

And you know what's crazy? I graduated from business administration (FINANCE), and i'm looking into a $15000/yr salary as a flight attendant, when i can get so much more...

I'm silly, but i guess i got fooled with the idea of getting free flights.. And i was under the impression that flight attendants party all the time when they get to a different city.. I said it, silly! :)

I was thinking that the opinions in this thread would be divided, but since they are all against the idea of me becoming a flight attendant, then i guess it is because it is a bad idea afterall.

thnx guys for sharing your thoughts, i really appreciate it!

I applied to be a Flight Attendant with my ex-wife in the early 90's. She requested that I apply with her because her english skills were good but she lacked confidence--it was a massive hiring fair in a hotel for two days for United Airlines. My ex-wife almost made it, she was flown to Chicago where she went like a week or so of extra screening before she was finally cut from the final six candidates. It was a little bit of a downer--but now after we divorced she got hired with Delta Airlines as a flight attendant, but after working as a part-time gate agent for a few years for them--and she still works for them as far as I know.

I dated a flight attendant once and she at times hated the job--because with low seniority she had sucky bases and routes. But on the flip-side she did get good routes on occassion and with lay-overs was able to enjoy the locations she travelled too.

alot of people think you party all the time as a flight attendant. you dont

when you land in a city you think is exciting * for argument sake lets say hawaii . you are in and out.

of you luck out and get to spend the night its not out of the question to for example land at 8pm

and be ready to fly out at 4am. Trust me all you would wanna do is make a mad dash to your hotel

and sleep.

since you do speak several lang. you could become a customer service agent or a gate agent. that way you can still fly and live life like a rock star.

one of my co workers he travels every weekend to see his fiancee in another state. sometimes she comes here to visit him. then sometimes they travel other places - like las vegas or new york.

You shouldn't be ashamed of thinking and dreaming! Sometimes it just takes the wisdom of those who have lived your dream to know that it's maybe not all you thought it would be. If it's your dream, go try it! In the overall scheme of things it's a short time to train and I would think you'd get a pretty good idea early on whether it was for you or not.

With a business degree, you have the potential to go further and higher quicker, and if you're into travel consider working for a cruiseline. If you and your husband can find jobs which suit you both, it's a fun, fun life.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do!
