Exactly and that's why I mentioned that states run and monitor their own presidential elections, not the Feds. You are claiming that the Feds prevent the states from investigating and prosecuting suspected voter fraud cases, I'm telling you that is not the case. Many states have voter id laws, the Feds haven't prevented the states from enacting them. It would be perfectly legal for any state to form a voter fraud task force to investigate any reports of suspected voter fraud without interference from the Feds. If republicans are so sure that voter fraud happens on the scale they say it does, why doesn't any red state have a voter fraud task force? Why aren't there any arrests made and people prosecuted?

Cops are not allowed to ask for ID for illegal aliens for ID in most any case and for sure are not allowed to inquire about their citizenship. Like public schools are not allowed to inquire about a students visa or immigration status, this all comes from Federal Court rulings. The feds will tie states hands at every turn.

There is no ruling that prevents law enforcement from asking for id of a suspected criminal. If a person is suspected of voter fraud (or any other crime), cops have the right to ask for and get the id of the person in question. Do cops allow a shop lifter or a car thief or a murder suspect to walk away because he might be illegal and they can't id them? Think of how ridiculous that sounds.

even if they have it, a cop I know here mentioned that they regularly arrest offenders (variety of offences) who get Ror'd or bailed out aand ICE never gets called.

They would have no reasonable cause to question them if they were trying to vote, It would be discrimination 101 if they started question suspected Illegals Aliens, and they would have a hard time figuring out who was legal and illegal also. So no they can't ask for ID in voting. You know the law like I know the law.

This is completely different from what Mr. Perry is claiming. Mr. Perry is claiming that cops cannot even ask for id from a suspected illegal, which is ludicrous.

That is one of the biggest issue with Sanctuary Cities, they are suppose to hold illegals for a certain number of days so the ICE can get them or at least investigate them.

And he claims to be college edumacated.

That's a lot of good money thrown out the window.

this whole premise that 'the feds' were once evil but under trump 'the feds' will miraculously turn into champions of justice for real americansis just mind boggling.

You're not being consistent here. Don't 34 states already have voter id laws? What do you mean they can't ask for id when voting?

In states with no voter id law, a cop is perfectly within his/her right to ask for id from a suspected criminal.

My post from earlier should have read "suspected criminal" not "suspected illegal".

I want to go back 30 years and become a bridge salesman. I would be richer than The Donald himself.
