Due To Be Scheduled For Interview/Email Text Updates/Trump

Hi guys,

My case is ready to be scheduled for interview since mid-Sept (applied end of May). I've got my work permit, managed to get a great job with health benefits etc so I'm terrified that USCIS will send my interview notice to the wrong address (as happened with my missed biometrics appointment) or the mailman will send the notice to the wrong address as has happened before with other mail addressed to us and we'll miss it. I'm not worried about the actual interview as we have plenty of evidence.

In addition to this I sent a request for online and text updates but it doesn't seem to have been activated as I have recivied none and when I login to the USCIS website to activate them manually all the options are stuck on No and won't allow me to change.

What's the best way to deal with the above?

Also, I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere on the forum but is it possible the next presidential administration could change the parameters of our immigration while it's being processed? I don't intend this as a political question, purely about the mechanics of the process. I suspect I'll have my conditional GC before anything happens but in theory is it possible that the adminstration could change the process so that I don't recieve my 10 year GC once the 2 year period is over? Or change the rules for applying for citizenship?

All you can do really is keep an eye on the mailbox, perhaps have a chat with your mail carrier and explain you are waiting for something super important from USCIS, and ideally, if you know where your bio appointment went, talk to the people who live there so they can contact you if something else gets sent there.
