first, unpack

then

apply for EAD

apply for AOS

with the new processes for CR1 and AOS, I'm really not sure what you're supposed to do with that. But when I did it, we just sent a letter to the NVC saying I was applying for AOS within the US, and asked them to forward my approved I-130 to the Charlotte district office. And then sent the AOS package stuff to whereever it was supposed to go (NBC? I dunno, its been a while).

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Greetings!

note: This is based upon my experience.

1. K3 and I-130 was approved. but we opt to take K3 as we cant wait to see each other again...but first we called and emailed NVC informing them that we will take the K3 route, that way they will hold the approved petition and they will sent it back later to the service center where we belong.

2. Arrived in the States using K3 visa.

3. Immediately filed AOS along with EAD.

4. Got Notices of action for both AOS & EAD.

5. Biometrics appointment.

6. Went for Biometrics, and had my picture taken digitally.

7. Got an approval for EAD.

8. EAD card rcvd.

9. Interview for AOS , ( EAD card was surrendered) ( waste of money). but thats okay becasue without EAD i cannot resquest for SS number, that means hard to apply for joint account, drivers licence...

10.Approval for AOS.

11.Greencard rcvd.
