That may be on the funniest comments I have read on this forum

It was a funny comment, but it didn't apply to the situation. If anything your original post was the initiation of "barking". ready4one didn't say anything directed at you, he was stating his opinion. You then proceeded to label him with a negative term. So if anything one could argue you were somehow "offended" by what he said and felt the need to label him negatively because of that.

I then responded with a question, and instead of trying to address my question (as you did), he responded essential with an ad hominem attack. Instead of actually addressing the comment and responding in a thoughtful way, he makes a comment about me as if I'm somehow "offended".

If the term Snowflake got you worked up enough to type all that, sadly that is proof positive you are one. It's a catch 22

How worked up do you need to get to type 6 sentences? I can type "all that" in about 30-60 seconds? I'm not worked up at all. Your lack of a response is merely you conceding my point because you can't form a rational argument otherwise. I commend Mark for actually responding, and I am willing to concede points to him once he elaborated on his initial choice to label the person. If all you want to say is some nonsense remark, you aren't contributing and you are only reflecting poorly on yourself.

I'll put it another way Nature Boy, since this has come up before and I'm "new here" -

I'm not getting worked up by anything you or anyone else says on these forums. I care very little. However, I am argumentative and will often times even argue a point I don't agree with just for the sake of arguing. What "works me up" is just to see perfectly good arguments/debates go to waste by people just throwing pretty weak meaningless insults at other people and try to pass that up as a "response". I see plenty of potentially very good interesting discussions/arguments to be had on these forums but many of them get derailed or wasted (from both sides mind you) by people calling others snowflakes, racists, weak, offended, "worked up" yada yada instead of actually responding to what the person says.

So if I'm at all worked up it's not because of the actual words. Sticks and stones and all that. This is a forum on the internet that I come on as a means to make time pass (I have to round and see patients today, and can't really leave my office until around 2:00pm so I'm trying to make the day go by quicker). For me I'd just like people to stick to actual arguments/debate/topics.

It's not about being a "fair" or "negative label". It's about keeping to the discussion. If you want to respond to the person by explaining why you think Trump does sound like Reagan, or why the country isn't great and but will be. I'm all for that. That's just great.

Responding to someone by saying "Well you're just a snowflake" is the same as somebody else saying "Well racist gonna be racist" when it doesn't necessarily apply here. It doesn't further a discussion. It's not about fairness, it's just pointless.

Acknowledging that something is a "negative label" does not immediately make someone a snowflake. Otherwise everyone who wants to reject "All conservatives are racists" are also snowflakes because they are thinking of it as a "negative label". Don't deny that when you use the word you are using it negatively, just like people on the "left" use certain terms negatively.

One of his first post I read from him was about his kids having to be talked off the ledge because Trump won. I am 100% most of that was passed down from the parent. He has made several other very liberal comments in general. Every time I read his comments, I know he is 100% snowflake

My kids, along with much more than half the Americans that voted, don't think Donald Trump is a good choice for President of the United States. We are in the majority in holding that position.

The fact that you have so little ability to come up with something beyond 'snowflake' in response to anyone holding the majority opinion regarding Donald Trump explains volumes regarding your decision to support him.

When Trump's tax plan kicks in, and his yuuge supporters here get hosed while the ultra-wealthy rake in new tax breaks, it will be very interesting to see how bigly his believers either are happy to pay through the nose to Make America Great Again or turn on him for the con-man he is.

What you should be angry about is how the DNC rigged the election and made gave Hillary Democratic Nominee and screwed Bernie Sanders and basically the people of the USA by having so many super delegates. Your party gave you a very flawed and crooked candidate and you foolishly and just like a sheep supported her.
