I am the petitioner for Spouse Visa. Submitted my application on September. Y'all know how dragging the process is. My question is regarding our ceremony. We got married in the City Hall back on September with the presence of both families. The whole reason why we decided to not opt for K-1 visa is because we much better prefer getting married where both of us are from, which is Algeria, and have our ceremony there instead of having both families flying over or fly back home.

We are waiting until she is issued the visa so I can use some of my time off to fly there, have the ceremony and head to our honeymoon. I should be able to provide the dates, confirmation and planning of the reception we are having for the interview. To cut story short, do y'all think the CO will be digging on why we have not had our ceremony/reception yet?

you are legally married after the court house thing. Period

any ceremony you have now is inconsequential as to being married or not for uscis. take pictures and submit it as more evidence of an ongoing relationship at the interview. good luck

You should have no problems applying and in theory should face no problems. However, be aware the Algerian embassy Are you planning on having the ceremony and the honeymoon prior to the interview? It will make your case stronger. I would also take a look at the Algerian embassy reviews to see if there have been any other cases without a marriage ceremony; did they face problems?

Good luck!

I am planning on having the ceremony after the interview. My only time off is 23 days. I was hoping to use all that at once, for the ceremony, honeymoon and settling, helping my wife to adjust.
