SAN ANTONIO — The family of slain San Antonio Police Department Detective Benjamin Marconi says President-Elect Donald Trump contacted them Monday to offer his condolences.

Annie Patterson Campos, who identifies herself as a "CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) at San Antonio Police Department" on her Facebook page, shared a post from Detective Benjamin Marconi's "son" Dane Gregory Marconi. Marconi's message states "Just got off the phone with the future president Trump, he sends his condolences to our family."

this has been ongoing, for years. the right insists that obama says nothing when a police officer is killed, but when a 'thug' is killed by a cop obama is out offering condolences to all black americans and orchestrating racial divide, this is a perfect example of the fake news everyone has been going on about. mark perry says 'It called the respectful and right thing to do" but when obama has called the family of officers that have been killed, when he spoke at their funerals even, it wasn't enough, it wasn't genuine. i would think he might wonder if a slain officers family would consider his call an additional stab in the back, considering the contempt and mistruths out there from the right, in attempt to discredit obama's integrity (which is all this really is, lets give trump some free integrity in the midst of all his current scandals/founding corruption. don't pay attention to that nonsense, look trump offered condolences to a slain cops family =something obama never did. lie)

sure. you would see it that way yet you're pretending as if i was referring to just this one particular cop killing. i was responding to mark's comment i referenced above, which insinuates that trump has done something MORE respectful and 'right' than his predecessor. i follow news from all sources, i've seen the meme's claiming obama does nothing but encourage violence against police, but whatever. you guys will see how trump distracts and manipulates..

Any time a sitting president calls the family of any tragedy, I am sure it means a lot to them. And it means a lot to us, the little people, sitting back and watching. It gives us a sense that We The People are being noticed from on high.

Obviously, a president does not have the time to do this; if he did, then he would not be "running the country". Kudos to Trump for taking the time. However, he will not always do so, that is a given.
