And we will write you a letter telling you how angry we are.

And we will give it to Rev. Jesse Jackson and Jimmy Carter to hand deliver it.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

With America as the most aggressive country on the planet - rest assured that if it steps into war with Iran, it will be the end of the United States.

Your United States is largely a paper tiger. Close to pulling out of a disastrous war against the undefended sovereign nation of Iraq.

The Iranians are a proud people of a civilisation, thousands of years old. Compare this against a 200-year-old country like the U.S.

The Americans had better start learning how to stop acting aggressively and negotiate instead.

Wow! If that is the way you feel why did you come to such a terrible place?

Yes, a disastrous war engaged in the worst possible fashion by a completely inept administration. That's hardly evidence of weakness, more of stupidity.

The United States is hardly a paper tiger. If we were truly threatened, the gloves come off and woe to whoever opposes us.

Just cause you're pissed about Iraq is no reason to disrespect the United States. Disrespect the fools who got us in that mess.

Dude, they had the Immortals. There's been some technology upgrades since then. While I think allowing ourselves to be drawn into a regional war is beyond stupid and I'm certainly not convinced there isn't a lot of empty saber rattling on both sides, let's be clear. Modern wars aren't won by the weight of history. They're won by overwhelming air superiority.

The U.S. isn't particularly good at winning the peace, but we're very good at bombing things back to the stone age. The immediate danger with a war with Iran isn't the collapse of the American empire. It's not *good* for the region, and anyone who argues that is a hawk on crack, but you know, air power.

This is not the first time Iran has done this... they love to draw attention to themselves then wrap themselves is an 'ideal-blanket' to draw sympathy from neighboring countries...

A dangerous game they play though..

1. Who's forcing you to immigrate to the USA? Why would you come otherwise?

2. You want us to kiss Ahmadinejad's a$$ like Chamberlain kissed Hitler's a$$? The world saw how well that worked.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I believe that America, and their Allies have more experience in world destruction than Iran. Look at Germany, they are truly dedicated to education. Most scientists that created such powerful weapons came from Germany or their contributions. Iran hasn't got a chance. I oppose War, but if it comes to destruction of freedom or the will to live, I must support it.

Why, when speaking of diplomacy, does no one ever use the Cuban Missile crisis, a triumph of knowing when not to bomb? I don't know what the right thing to do with Iran is, mind, but this 'every bit of diplomacy is JUST THE SAME AS APPEASEMENT' is a stupid meme that deserves to be retired.

Sometimes diplomacy is smart. Sometimes it isn't. None of the players in the current drama are Weimar Germany. Holding a group of sailors isn't the same as invading Czechoslovakia. Iran isn't in Europe. We can trot out the Nazi analogies all day, but they're not going to do anything useful.

Thus, rclouse's use of the term Godwinned. Your point was already made by rclouse, albeit in a much more pithy manner :P

I hadn't seen his post, but given how often everyone whines about Nazis around here, maybe most of them missed Godwin's law and corollaries.

On the other hand, if we keep batting the Nazi analogy around, then we should decide who the brave allies are. If Iran is Germany, then maybe the UK is the US, and we're Stalin?
