This is really hard for me, and i've been crying a lot since yesterday. The nurse told us to come back on dec 6-8 for sputum test, she explained that there is some abnormalities in our xray ( we are like more than 10 people to come back)

In my case, i dont have any symtoms and no history of TB. Is there any chances my result would be positive? Im so worried about this sputum test ?

Thanks

This is unfortunate. You do have to do the sputum culture collection, it takes place over 3 days.. Then they will find notify you of the results, whether negative or positive.

Research about the testing done at St. Lukes to inform yourself better of this.

And perhaps other mmebers here have dealt with this same issue.

Best of luck to you. And relax, either way it goes, it is only a minor set back to the overall goal of being with the one you love.

1st and foremost - Do not stress and get upset about the SPUTUM testing. If you have TB it is good that it was found and cured.. TB kills. TB is contagious ...

As for will your culture being positive or not, you will have to wait the 60 days for the answer to that one.

Don't stress.... All will be fine!

Your Sooooooo lucky to have further testing to determine if there is TB. Just think, if gone unnoticed and not treated the worst would happen.

I'm dealing with my third case of cancer in the past ten years. But because I have yearly physicals and discuss things I'm not sure about, the Doctors and I have been able to catch it, and with surgery it's been removed. Remember, control what you can and leave the rest in God's hands.

You and my fiancee have the same problem. I was at work and received a news from him last Monday about his medical from St. Lukes last Thursday. We were both disappointed and sad. He has no TB either or showing any symptoms but he is a nurse for 20+ years in a government hospital. I guess what we can do as of now is wait then pray and hope that both smear and culture results will come back negative.
