Question on process after I-129F

My fiancee from the Philippines and I have had our petition approved (Aug 30th, petition expiration date is Dec 30th this year) and proceeding with the next steps of setting up the appointment.

Several US government websites seem to contradict themselves saying you can pay the visa fee at the embassy the day of the interview and others say you must pay before scheduling the interview. It's confusing. We were on the site to schedule an interview and it asks for a priority date. We don't know what to put there.

I have some questions:

Q 1) She must pay the fee at BPI ($265 for K1 visa) first before we can schedule the interview correct?

Q 2) After paying, what next? Do we have to wait for postal mail to have a letter with a priority date?

Q 3) We don't have much more documentation to collect, so at what time does she schedule the medical exam? She will have to travel from Angeles to Manila (I know), how long does she need stay there?

She received a letter from the NVC (or Embassy) October 4th with a copy of the I-129F with some handwritten notes and numbers on it and an USCIS approved stamp on it. We haven't received anything else further, unless we are required to do something now?

Q4 Not sure what we need to do next. I called the NVC and they said the embassy has the package and to talk to them next to find out our next steps. I read up that she is supposed to receive an invoice to pay? Nothing has been received yet.

So unless I'm incorrect (please correct me if I'm wrong):

1) She pay the fee at BPI ($265 for K1), others on here said wait for her daughter's fee to be paid

2) She schedules the interview (but can't without the priority date? or should we call the embassy and schedule with someone on the phone?)

3) She schedules the medical exam and she and her daughter travels to Manila to get the exam

4) She attends the interview and then the rest of the process

I'm concerned that this process might take longer than through Dec 30th, will they extend the petition?

Our meeting date was late Feb 2015, so if they take longer than expected at the embassy, will that cause a problem if her interview is put out to Feb or March?

Interview can be scheduled online. Then she can pay for the interview at BPI, just take receipt of payment to the interview.

Medical can be scheduled and should take place 1-2 weeks before the interview date.

As llong as you schedule the interview they will auto extend the NOA2 validity.

Remember also to take care of CFO. She can do this before or after the interview.(If before, she needs to return with passport containing visa for final stamp/sticker, if after interview she just needs to wait and they will return passport to her with everything following the appointment)

Also can keep up with your file status here : https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

Use the MNL case #. Search under "immigrant visa"

Im sure the PHI forum can answer all your questions they dont seem to scrutinize much at that Embassy.
The physical meeting requirement is 2 yrs before to the date of filing, not interview.

Thanks Ben. What is CFO?

Also I forgot to ask. Onnher cooy of the I129F, they wrote "detailed interview recommended". Is that something to be worried about?

CFO is "Commission for Filipinos Overseas". There are two departments, one for Filipinos working abroad, and one for Filipinos living/marrying abroad. On the site they ask what visa you are using so you will be applying for proper category.

As for the "Detailed interview recommended"... I have not heard of that.... I would ask my partner right now for you if anything of his said that information but he is on a plane right now to Dallas where I'll pick him up in the morning...but perhaps some other Philippines members here know more details or have seen that annotation before.

Here is a link to help clear up things with how to proceed with the K-1visa process in the Philippines http://visaconnection-philippines.com/index.php/2-visa-process/3-usem-k-1-visa

Follow the embassy instructions letter, use it as your checklist for what is needed for the interview. There is a link to the instructions letter in the above link I provided.

There is NO invoice, that is only with immigrant visas, you are K-1 which isn't. To pay the visa fee at BPI you need a deposit slip - link to that is in the link about I provided. BPI will give you a receipt, keep this safe!!! Make a copy even.

Then you create your account - link above has that link ;) 12-24 hours after paying the visa fee you can schedule the interview on line.

As for the petition expiring in December.. it won't, USEM will automatically extend the petition validity for up to a year. You don't have to do anything regarding this.

There are sections for completing the medical and CFO from the website I linked to you.

Thanks Ben. What is CFO?

Also I forgot to ask. Onnher cooy of the I129F, they wrote "detailed interview recommended". Is that something to be worried about?

Interesting on the recommendation. Do you have some issued in your past that they want to make sure your fiancee is aware of??

Not for you I don't

Maybe there is something that was said or not said that has caused him to be cautious. I certainly would be. There is a lot of negativity coming from the person he wishes not to deal with. His choice.
