Husband still in El Salvador 10 months after interview

My husband had his interview in El Salvador in February. He was asked to send more information. So the papers they asked for, we sent in April. We were told it could take 60 days to 8 months to hear from them. It is now November, and in a couple weeks it will have been 8 months since we sent the last papers. Our lawyer has emailed the embassy, but every time they just give a basic answer, like that the case in under administrative processing ( like we didn't already know that ). We are desperate because we have a 2 year old son and a 7 month old daughter that he missed the birth of because of being stuck in El Salvador. We have sold everything out of our home in the US to keep bills paid and are in debt from this! My question is if there is anything we can do or just simply keep waiting with no knowledge of how much longer it could take? Also, what is the longest time we could have to wait under administrative processing? I know they say up to 8 months but it seems they change things as they go, so we are very worried. Any advice or kind words are appreciated. Thanks!

I was in AP 32 days and felt like it was a lifetime cant imagine 8 Months that's insane.

Have you contacted your senators office?

I signed a release and they got better answers for me.

I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but there is no finite amount of time AP can last. I know of people who were in AP for years before the visa was issued.

Also there is no way to speed up AP.

Im sorry as we had our interview in Feb 2016 and we turned in information requested at interview. They have ask for additional background checks that I have paid for (all) and we have had to wait 60 days every time. Ap means denied till they finish and make a decision. Its been 10 months and I had to wait till Monday at 60 days to ask. Its difficult and Im sorry.
