tuesday he starts work with me :D i'm really excited because he'll be in town with me a month longer than we had planned (remember, he's moving to philly to get work ... now he's got a temporary job here, he can delay that).

just wondering how it's worked with any of you to be in the same workplace. (we'll be in seperate rooms, but in the same dept.)

Hehe...I havnt actually done any "work" as such.. but my husband works in the family business, so Ive been coming in with him everday for the past six months while I waited on my work permit ! I love being with him ! ... but now things are changing cus I just got my permanent residency so time for me to get out there and look for a real job  ... and he starts a new job next month anyway. Maybe he can find me a job there :P

A lot of people say told me they would go crazy if they spent so much time with their SO's as we do... guess we just cant get enough of each other ;)

Enjoy it !!

I'll be working with Dave too when I get in the US. His brother owns the pizza and Dave's the manager. We'll bo working on the same days at first, so that he can teach me everything but then I'll have my own schedule just like everyone else.

It's a family business so I'll be working with Dave's mom, Dave's brother, Dave, and other 15 co-workers that are not family... his mom is actually gonna retire after I get there, I'll replace her. I hope I don't screw up!

In the future we might work together...

At the moment I'm glad we don't really - we get into massive debates about everything so we'd end up bickering with each other :) we have different personality types (which is great...but I don't want to have to smack him down at work lol)

heehehehehe

it's kinda freaky sometimes.... his personality and mine are identical. maybe it's because we're both picies (the spelling doesn't look right.... but you know what i'm trying to say...)

I've never done it but I have worked with close friends(that I had outside of work) at 2 different jobs. Usually it was really nice having someone around who knew you outside of work, the real you, and could complain about the job with you  . I think it would be awesome to work at the same place as Sujeet. I think you will have fun working at the same place with eachother, even while in different rooms. You can see eachother on breaks.

It might be cool to work with your spouse BUT

keep work and private life separated. Don't take problems to work and let it influence your work together. And don't talk about work too much at home as it may become all one big thing and there's no free time.

Be careful with that and you'll be fine working together

I couldn't do it. My work is mine, the place where I count as an individual and not as Chris' wife. I go out to some of the gigs he plays and I enjoy it, but it's very different than sitting in an office together all day and then coming home and rehashing the same things.

I hear it works very well for some people though, so enjoy it!

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

My husband is my supervisor. But... I'll be promoted soon so I don't have to be in his face as much during the shift.

Exactly. And seeing someone 24/7 does get to be too much at times :P

That's something I've had a problem with when I started working on his shift. I was referred to as "Dave's wife", it pissed D off as well. I know alot of people have a difficult time pronouncing my name and stuff but yeah, at least ask or try?

I don't like it too much, working with my husband that is. But third shift is the only chance at a promotion for me and it keeps my options open for school, interviews etc.
