I'M POSTING ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND, HER GUY WAS DENIED A VISTOR VISA . HER QUESTION IS SHOULD THEY FILE A K-1 OR GET MARRIED? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

A lot of people on here are denied tourist visas.

Have they met in person within the last two years? Both are free to marry?

If they meet those requirements then yes, they can file for the I-129F petition.

They can go for a K-1 fiancé visa or get married and go for a CR-1. Only they can make the decision as to which is the better option for them. There are pros and cons to both.

A K1 would probably be deinied especially when it is noted the friend tried tourist and was denied

it would be better to go straight to the marriage and CR 1 / be prepared to front load the application with plenty of evidence

Not necessarily true. Many many K1's get approved in Nigeria after a denied visitor's visa.

Denied visitor visas have nothing to do with the K1 process unless there was misrepresentation during them, that goes for any country.
