What leaves? The yard is covered by snow now

Not yet here. We got a dusting of snow yesterday morning, but there's still some leaves left in the trees. My rule of thumb is whatever doesn't fall by Thanksgiving gets picked up in the spring.

Kohl's said they were doing there black friday sale all week online but no kolh's cash I would guess doing it that way. I need towels with 6 kids(big ones and little ones) they go through towels and kohl's has some decent ones for a good deal.

I got an email from Kohl's. Until the 26th, they are giving 15% off and you get $15 Kohl's cash (not $10) for every $50 spent.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Sharp. I love Sony Bravia, but if you want a big size one I can see how you'd want something much cheaper. How much are Bravia's for in your area?

We have a Sharp Aquos 32 LCD in the bedroom and it's been 8+ years since we moved in and no issues.

Only Best Buy still sells Sony around here, so I don't know. Usually it's Samsung and Vizio now mostly everywhere. I'm not looking for any Smart TV or 4K/UHD nonsense. I just want a decent TV with a good picture. We are planning to buy a house next year, so I'll buy a good one then.

I guess if you like shopping and don't mind crowds it is a good thing. I'd rather pay full price than fight the crowds for a deal, and many times that's what I end up doing.

Might be location I haven't noticed crowds here till Black Friday or maybe just the time I go out at.

Ok so doesn't work with their deals that started yesterday. I wait till friday unless I feel like I need to walk off some calories later Thursday night after the rush is over.

I can't speak for all companies, but usually when a holiday falls on pay day, that usually delays the check by a day.

if pay day is weekend or holiday, I get mine 1 biz day before.

Well there are a lot of people moving here for, lets call it recreational purposes. The population has really outpaced the infrastructure. I don't even shop much on weekends anymore, and if I do it's usually first thing in the morning.

I just have two issues with Amazon dash

1. It encourages people to stick to a single brand (and mostly major brinds like Tide for laundry detergent) which I feel like can stiffle development and progression if people just start automatically getting the same things over and over again. I think human nature pushes us towards being "creatures of habit" and we don't need more things to push us in that direction. We want innovation but if everything becomes automated it will be harder for smaller companies to stand out by doing things different.

2. It seems like every item is just going to be shipped separately. Seems like a very unfriendly thing for the environment. So Monday you notice toilet paper is low, so you order that. Tuesday you order laundry detergent. Wednesday you order

condoms (yes there is a dash for condoms). All of those will be shipped separately whereas if there was a way to combine them into one shipment it would be more environmentally friendly. Maybe make the button "schedule" for the item to be delivered on a specific day and every item you schedule before that day gets added into one shipment. So you have like a weekly monday shipment so if you press buttons on Thursday, Friday and Saturday they all get added to the Monday shipment.

I'm no hippie. Not even close. My wife works in oil and gas as a Geologist.

That being said, I still think that when possible it makes sense to limit things. Having three separate deliveries for one item each is wasteful and unnecessary.

I wonder if there is any data on the energy and packaging waste. The mail is coming out for several folks so there is some economy on the transportation there.

In Seattle we recycle but there is no home for all the bubble wrap...sit there and pop it while watching TV

Amazon Fresh is coming to the neighbor hood soon. Then there will be few reasons to go to the grocery store.
