I received NVC notification on November 7, 2016 that they had received our case. I checked today and they sent to embassy on the 17th. It is going to London. I did call and get the invoice number, but was given no option to pay the fees, just fill out the DS-160 which I did. It will not let me do anything else, choose an agent or pay the fees. I was under the impression fees and an agent comes first from everything I have read. I have also seen they will let you pay the fees at the embassy if you have not done that yet.

So many questions! I know to wait to schedule the medical until the embassy has received the case- but once they have received it I can schedule the exam, correct? I tried calling the DOS on the sticky, but got no options and pressing numbers did not work they just transferred me to the NVC. The visa status is listed as READY. So I am just waiting for the embassy to receive now. When there is so much left to do it is hard to wait- I know I need to get the documents to the NVC but they have not said anything about how to do that or where to send it either.

For the K-1 process you don't have to do anything with NVC. Just wait for them to forward your file to the Consulate.

Hello,

I know most Embassies are different as far as what they want and how they want it. I am sure you can get some good advice from others that have gone through the US Embassy in London. You might want to check out the Embassy website. It might answer a lot of the questions you are looking for. I have copied the K1 link for the London Embassy for you

You don't need to send anything to the NVC and you don't need to pay the MRV fee until you schedule the interview. You'll get a letter from the embassy at some point confirming they've received your case with a link to the following instructions that explain what to do next:

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-a-fiancee-visa-instructions/

Basically, you need to complete the DS-160, which you seem to have done, and schedule your medical exam. You do that by phoning Knightsbridge Doctors directly, the link I posted above contains more details.

VisaJourney also has an embassy info page you might want to read with additional information and tips:

Awesome, thank you! That is truly a relief not to have to give anything else. I have been going over the embassy's requirements today and have made a list, and printing off documents. We did the police check today, not long now! :)
