Good morning,

My husband finally had his biometrics on Friday (we sent in the packet August 10!)... any ideas what is next in the process and how much longer? He is so anxious to be able to drive and work!

Thanks for any help!

The next step would normally be an interview at your local USCIS office. We were lucky because my husband's application was sent to California for processing, and we did not have to report for an in-person interview. Within weeks of his biometrics appointment, my husband received a letter from USCIS informing him the case was transferred, and he was required to send to California the same documentation he would have had to bring to the interview. My husband's biometrics appointment was in late January, he received his EAD 2 months later, and his green card arrived a month after that. I can't say how long it will take if you are required to appear in person for an interview, as that is likely dependent on the case load of your local office. And I'm not sure whether California is currently processing applications at the same speed they were in January.

Good luck with your journey.
