I am a divorced conditional green card holder. My green card expires in June 2017, so I will soon be starting the process of petitioning for removal of conditions. I have lived in the same state (Florida) and have maintained the same job since before receiving the green card. Would it be a bad idea to change jobs/move to a different state right now? Could it affect my chances of successful removal of conditions?

Advice from a divorce waiver filer: file ASAP.

Changing jobs and moving has no effect. Make sure to change address with AR-10 and double-check by calling if it went through (I also made an InfoPass)

Good luck!

If you don't mind me asking, why ASAP?

When filing a divorce waiver I-751 you can file as soon as you have the final divorce decree. No need to wait for the 90 days prior to GC expiration date "window" to open.

This.

Also, because I filed with VSC and they're taking forever. If I had filed as soon as I was divorced, I'd have my new green card before the old one expired, but I couldn't stomach going through things to compile evidence for a few months.

+1 but any VSC filer regardless of joint or waiver filing should file as soon as the eligibility begins.

Also, statistics from 2008 to 2012 show waiver filers get interviewed more often than joint filers. Odds are almost twice as much. https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/cisomb-conditional-residence-recommendation-final-02282013_1.pdf (Take a look at the numbers at Appendix A on Page 18) Hence, better to get going early.
