Okay if we are going to talk about it here. It is Hillary doing absolutely nothing. Hillary said nothing of the sort. Someone from her FORMER campaign has expressed her opinion for why they lost. There is no campaign anymore. She is not "representing" Clinton anymore. It is a single voters opinion. So you can make fun of that person, but don't put the words into Hillary's mouth.

It's like me quoting a racist KKK member who supports Trump and saying "Trump said this horrible racist thing!". As I'm sure you and many other "right-leaning" people have mentioned on these forums, individual supporters don't necessary speak for their candidate.

Before you say that this isn't just "a supporter" but it was a Clinton staffer, lets not start quoting Trump staffers for the crazy junk they have said and claim Trump said it.

Lets try to keep to what people ACTUALLY said, and not put words into people's mouths.

I disagree.

I think artists have the right (and the constitution agrees) to voice their opinion. I think he knew before going to the play that the majority of the cast don't agree with a lot of his beliefs. The play itself even speaks out against some of what Trump/Pence believe in without them making a speech at the end.

Artists have no requirement to be unbiased. They can say what they want. If people don't want to hear it, they don't go or don't buy tickets. If you already bought tickets and don't want to go, please send them to me. I'll see it again.

It's not Trump's right to say that. It's the theater owner, director etc... If they want to limit their cast they have every right to. They can fire them if they want to. I'm sure they completely agree though. They didn't have to make the speech for the play to speak for itself.

Are you seriously trying to compare Trump's "acting" ability to a broadway cast? Did you watch the apprentice? Trump didn't need to act.

I haven't seen Hamilton since the cast changed, but I'm sure they are just as amazing as the original cast.

And why aren't you calling Trump the "Snowflake" in this instance? He seems really hurt and in need of a safety hug right now.

Nope, sorry, still disagree. While they technically have the right, I still believe it's in very bad taste to single someone out only because they are a political figure you disagree with, and lecture them when all they wanted to do was go somewhere and have a good time. You don't use the opportunity to shove stuff down someone's throat. If he wanted to be lectured, he would have gone to a university instead.

Wellll, it's a little more nuanced than that. The show is basically political in its plot. Also, the actors didn't interrupt the performance to address Pence, they did so after the show was over. It is pretty unprofessional of an actor to start using the stage as a soap box just because there's a political figure in the audience. I honestly wouldn't have minded it so much if they had just worded whatever they wanted to say better, for example, if they would've just wished Pence to do a good job, instead of trying to politicize it. Anyway, Pence himself certainly handled the whole thing pretty well. Trump really just needs to take a break from Twitter every now and then!

I would challenge anyone here to provide ONE example of Obama "demanding" someone apologize to him.

Just ONE example. Please give me ONE SINGLE TIME he has come out either publicly or on twitter, facebook or whatever medium claiming he deserves an apology. I'm not looking for an example of someone ELSE demanding the apology. I'm talking straight from his mouth (or twitter).

You can believe that they "shouldn't" have done it all you want, others can disagree. They aren't "required" to apologize for anything. They can chose to act however they like as long as the owners of the institution/production agree. They risk losing business, but honestly I don't really see that happening.

Gotcha. We are basically on the same page then. I think Pence was quite mature about the whole thing. Artists have a long history of "expressing" their opinion through their medium and using their "fame" and their captivated audience to further their beliefs. You can argue that artists shouldn't do that, but it's there right. The audience has the power to decide whether they still like them or not.
